The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

So finally completed this with 100% achievements on Steam; 1 broken bone playthrough of the main game and Hearts of Stone followed by a deathmarch playthrough of all the content. Total hours at 620ish! I would definately say I had my monies worth from the game! Beautiful environment, really like the weather effects... Just wish it has a seasonal approach and change in landscape!

Reinstalled this so I can finish it before I move onto Kingdom Come Deliverance.
I can't remember what the hell I'm doing gameplay or story wise.

At the moment I'm
trying to find Dandelion, I've got to go to a pub for a poetry reading
How far am I away from the end?

Did anyone skip Witcher 2 and watch a youtube video to catch up? If so, which is recommended? Been on 2 for about 2 years now, I find it too boring to even launch.

You could probably get through it over the weekend if you have the time, not if you are playing the expansions too though

I played 1&2 years ago, so forgot most the story by the time 3 got around. No massive need to play though does provide some context, but if slogging through number 2 to play number 3 is the only thing holding you back, I would just watch a video which shows most the key points and dig into number 3. Better in every way IMO.

50 or 60 hours in, first time playing a Witcher game. Wow pretty much sums it up. I am regularly impressed with this wonderful, massive, beautiful game.

Haven’t tried any mods yet but I loved loads of the mods in Skyrim, and I presume there are loads of mods for this – are any of them considered ‘essential’? Nothing too game-changing to begin with – the only thing annoying me is Roach - the horse that keeps trying to get me killed - so I go on foot and fast-travel mostly. Oh and Gwent, I’m just ignoring Gwent after the first few games were no fun. Feels like a waste to be playing Gwent when you could be playing the rest of this epic game.

I’ll have a look back through this thread for recommended Mods, but it’s pretty long! Any highly-recommended mods for a Witcher newbie?

I love Gwent. My deck is pretty good now so it's not as much of challenge as it used to be, but, I really like it.

I agree with the horse, it hasn't got me killed yet, but, it's really difficult to manoeuvre and it gets stuck so easily!!

68 hours played and I am only level 17 and am still early in the game, trying to find Dandelion at the moment.

It's really beautiful game. I find myself just wandering around looking at things, taking in the sights. And I have OCD or something. I can't ignore the ? on maps. I know if I play the quests I will probably get most of them, but I spend ages running around trying to get them all!!

Ehh thanks for the advice. I'm looking for recommendations on a video and you tell me to watch a video...

I’m doing the same. As soon as I got to Velen I spent two days just wandering around exploring, didn’t do the main quest or anything. Ended up in some crazy situations against things that were massively overlevelled against me but it was exciting. It was actually scary at times, I was out of breath on a few occasions and desperate to find a new fast-travel post out of there, haven’t had that feeling gaming in a while. And the views are stunning, even vanilla before any mods, I am regularly stopping just to admire the sunset or the scenery. I have taken hundreds of screenshots, the game is gorgeous.

Now I have a TON of quests to get through and I can’t wait. Even most of the sidequests are engaging, or challenging or funny or… like Keira, damn! Sorry Yen, eh, she must have cast a spell on me, you know what witches are like… Which reminds me, must go back and see that redhead – nothing happened! Yet…

There are lots of opportunities for a guy looking for some company in Novigrad :p:D

I feel I'm just rounding the final corner on this game after an enjoyable ~200 hours... got one final contract and the end of the Blood + Wine storyline to do and I'm done... It's been great!

First playthrough here. In Skellige at the moment. I do every side mission I can that's below a certain level, then do some main. Don't think I'll bother with all the underwater qustion marks though. There's loads!

I'm on my first play through aswell. Think i raced ahead too far in main quest and got to near the end. So now I'm going and doing as many side quests as I can to prolong the game.
Wish I had done them when going through each area.

Here is a good mod if you using any, I found it a bit rushed having to be within 5 levels to maintain some experience from the quests. There is different settings, I used mixed, 100% for Quests as normal, but if they greyed out on me I got 50% at least. But as you can see, there is 4 more settings to pick from. Always Full Exp by Toommy1984

Also, if you have the DLC's and doing them after main quest. You might want to do some of those treasure marks (underwater question marks), since you get a nice haul from them and earn coins too. :p
