The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

I haven't tried that yet. Just redownloaded Witcher 3 last night so will put my mod list in fingers crossed it doesn't crash on launch again..

Realistic Contrast Textures is still getting updated.. wow. That's been going for 2 years now.

I never modded for my first play through and for my second I have no desire to start modding it. It just doesn't need them like skyrim does

The mods are not necessary, but they sure improve the experience even further. For example I really dislike how far the default camera is from Geralt, so with immersive cam I customize it exactly to my own preference. Immersive motion improves controls with gamepads, textures improve graphics etc.

To add to this. With FriendlyHud you can have the Hud customized to your liking, including having everything off to get even more immersed into the game with not having your health bar, compass and what not shown when you just walking around. Setting health to show once in combat, compass when either clicking on a key or using witcher sense etc. Something that CDPR should have had from start but hey, they can't think of all.

I do agree game is fully playable without any mods, but as Paul said, they can improve the experience even further.

Ohh and not forget the No more rolling down stairs mod, that one is almost essential for Geralt since he is SO clumpsy walking in stairs ! :p

I gave this a quick blast when it came out but I never really got into it, I've just finished another run through Skyrim, think its worth another go?

If I was going to mod it I liked the sound of whatever that unofficial patch made by the guy who worked on the game that re-balances a lot of it to make it more challenging, as although I enjoyed the experience the game was far too easy

Easily one of the best games ever made! I have cleared it 4 times, once on pc without expansions, then twice on xbox one s , then once on ps4 pro, tempted to start my 5th NG+ deathmarch as the ps4 pro finally just got the 4k hdr patch :)

I loved playing this game, only completed the vanilla quest line once but really enjoyed all of it. I bought the expansions but cannot summon the will to do them as there seems to be a lot of grinding for gold involved to change your abilities. It’s a shame really, I just wanted some more good story lines to explore.

Had this game since release still can't bring myself to finish it. Finished 2nd one and loved it not sure why I can't get hooked. Think it's cause I lost my 70 hour save and lost heart with doing it again.

You can skip Heart and Stone and just go and do Blood and Wine, as long as you have the right level for it. Sure, you be needing some serious coinage for the Grandmaster outfits but those you should be able to manage. The runemaker in Heart and Stone though is a real money drainage though. But in my opinion, Blood and Wine is worth it, you gonna love that DLC I think !

Ouch that would hurt indeed !! As I mentioned further up, I finished W2 for the third time recently and just started playing W3 now again for the second time. Depending on how long it been for you since you played it, maybe do W2 again and then continue with 3 ?? Or just leave it for a while longer, I'm sure one day you find the urge to complete it. It is worth it, even if it is rough to lost your saves. :(

Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine have some of the best stories and quests in the gaming industry, period

You do not have to grind for anything whatsoever, the new skills and whatnot are optional and not necessary

Yeah, that Rune guy is a complete waste of money if you ask me. You only get three runeable items if you are wearing Witcher gear and the runewords offered are a bit naff anyway. Interesting to hear that the DLC stories are good - I packed up after completing the main quest as I had really had enough by then.

I have a confession to make. I played the main campaign, then Hearts of Stone and then decided to have a break before starting Blood and Wine but... that was over a year ago and I just don't feel the compulsion to go back and play it. Does anybody want to talk me in to it? Do we get more Triss and/or Jennifer action?
