The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

What a fantastic game! Depressing as hell, but at the same time, utterley fabulous! I hope there's going to be a Witcher 4 in the making. I'm practically praying so.

I was playing last night with a huge grin on my face. It's just so good.

Yes - CD Projekt Red is developing The Witcher Remake in Unreal Engine 5 - announced last month

The RT mod didn't make a huge difference for me (athough I was trying out v0.5 and I see there is 0.6 now so need to update) because my experience was smooth anyway, maybe 3 fps max gain - I am still using it though just because.

I'm on Windows 11, Resize BAR enabled, latest Studio driver for the RTX

I'm gonna enable resizable bar now. Which RT mod are you using performance or quality?

ah bugger I have to update the VBIOS on my card to enable Resizable BAR. It's a pre built PC so don't want to do it incase I void the warranty

EDIT updated the BIOS of my Mobo and I have Resizable Bar active :)

Studio driver eh... Wonder how much difference to game drivers.

No performance difference. They're the same driver version but go through wider and more intense quality testing so they're more stable for more apps etc.

You need to make sure Resizable BAR is enabled in nvinspector for the Witcher 3 or its disabled otherwise :)

EVGA precision x and Nvidia control panel say its active.

Using the 0.6 performance mod and I see micro stutter... It does look really nice though but I'm gonna go back to vanilla as its annoying

Yes but it is active/enabled for the Witcher 3? It clearly says "Disabled" when you look at the Witcher 3 as the game doesn't actually use it unless forced. It can still be enabled in BIOS and Nvidia Control Panel, but doesn't mean *** if the game doesn't actually use it :P

OK thanks I'll try it again maybe it will help with the stuttering

Anyone tried running the game with hyperthreading/SMT disabled if RT is enabled? I know I got a performance bump when I did this with Spider-Man. Haven't downloaded Witcher 3 to test yet and can't seem to find any evidence of anyone trying this.
