theHunter: Call of the Wild

its £20 game all in from cdkeys.com.or you can buy on steam for £30. all the guns and items are in the game.its a one time payment.theHunter classic which is the original game is a microtransactions game.

Brocky the steam forums is where forums is for call of the wild. you could try their twitter or facebook page.they are aware of the crashing issue and working on a patch.game is very addictive cant stop playing it :p
Yeah, me too. I unlocked the .Huntsman early hours this morning. Not had a chance to try it yet, but about to log back in shortly and give it a whirl. Would you say I should carry the .223 or .243 along with it, for smaller targets? I'm guessing the bigger round from the .270 will affect the integrity bonus for fox & coyote...?

Very nice. Downloading now.

Is cdkeys.com a decent site to order from?
Yes. I have used them 4-5 times and had no issues.

Time to jump in! I really think a proper surround sound, speakers in all four corners of my bedroom would be great.. maybe it's did that? Especially for this and animal calls..

Not sure about the lowering of the skill requirements for gear. Although, it means I have just got the better optic but I think they've caved to the 'I need to have all the best gear now!' crowd and it looks far too easy now. I really don't get why developers do it. Surely they want people playing for as long as possible and it also puts them under more pressure to introduce new items to the game sooner. It's lunacy.

I would say so! The sounds are very good and it would make the world massively more immersive than it already is. Although, get too close to a moose call and your neighbours might start giving you funny looks. :D

Just had another freeze crash. Didn't even get a shot off with my Huntsman and new optic yet. :(

Also, for anyone wanting to maintain visual quality but claw a few frames back, try lowering the landscape tessellation to high or even medium. Low is too noticeable but, even on medium, there's a decent improvement with no real visual hit.

Ok, the new reduction in skill requirements for weapons is ridiculous. In a couple of hours, I'll have all the rifles and optics unlocked. Last night I was buzzing because I had made it to my first rifle upgrade and now I have them all. That's a massive downer for me. I really can't stand this culture of instant gratification that games developers constantly bend over for!

Sounds like two extremes tbh, they needed to lower it but they dropped it too far by the sounds of it!

i personally would have liked it to remain the same but with many things now kids want most things easier. i think the long road to unlocking gave purpose to the game and achievement when you get the next item / gun. then you apprechiate it more. now i have the top gun its a beast. i shot 3 moose at 300 metres plus downing each one on the spot. i did look up the gun thinking it was op until i seen in real life what the .338 bushmaster can do. :p

Great and the promise of an even bigger patch to come!

Just now need the following DLC

Africa - big cats and elephants!
U.K. - chavs

I agree, I was working toward my second rifle, then logged on after patch and got about 10 unlocks at once. Terrible

As a lot of people are raving over this at the moment, I bought it from CDKeys. Ive not long got a new pc and want to test it :)

The screenies look great I must admit.

I still cannot decide whether to buy this, I see the screenshots, they look amazing. I see lots and lots of people talking about how good it looks, but I see comparatively few people saying how good it plays. Its almost like everyone is simply rating it because it looks good. I hear that there are too many animals, that its too easy, that you unlock everything in a really short time...essentially everything I am hearing about the actual gameplay is a negative, but its got great graphics.

All of which is really holding me back on pulling the trigger (pun intended) , I dont want something that I fire up and show people and say look at how good this looks !! and then the moment they turn away , logout to play something which has good gameplay.

I think my only option at this point is to wait a few months and see if people are still talking about it after growing tired of hitting the screenshot key.

I played again yesterday after the patch, my issues are now sorted, UI in 3440x1440 fits and the control sensitivity works. I do find it's played better with a game pass though so you can gather movement speed.

As for game play, I stalked roe deer for about an hour and a half, only saw one once and never fired a shot! Do I need to work on my tracking a bit but one not experienced to many animals personally. I love taking screen shots but I've not taken any yet, it's really satisfying to unwind walking through the world and watching the dynamic weather etc.

To be fair the gameplay isnt bad, its just not what everyone expected, you'll find a lot of people who are moaning are the ones who played the old one, and are used to it being hard, where you really had to work for your kill.
A remake of the classic version with better graphics it is not. However when you get passed that and actually start playing it can be pretty good, the game really is what you make of it.
Personally i play when i want to relax, just go for a wander in the woods and pop a few shots at some wildlife.
The game needs work without a doubt, they still need to address the overpopulation of animals, and the animal AI can be a bit buggy at times. I feel they have got a few things right, graphics are truly breathtaking, combine that with the sounds and the huge maps etc make for an extremely atmospheric game. I feel the actual hunting gameplay is alright, if it wasnt for the fact that theres a bear of a deer behind every bush (slight exaggeration), it might actually feel a bit challanging.

I think with a month or two of tweaking/rebalancing etc the Devs could quite easily make this the game it should have been, its not far off but there is work to be done.

Given your reservations i dont think i could recommend you buy right now, give it time, let the devs work out what needs working out and wait for a sale, I picked it up for £20 and i'm happy with it, but I dont think it'll be long before it can be had for £15.

It's utterly immersive and the time flies by when you play it.:D
