***There are jobs here***

Some great roles in here.

I also have the following grad/entry level roles, based in Bromley, Kent:

Systems Analyst

An opportunity has arisen for a candidate who has the ability to write systems specifications to a technical (Structured English/Psuedo code) level and be familiar with data design and data modelling. However, knowledge of Object Modelling, MVC and the use of XSDs would be a distinct advantage.

In this Analyst Role you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of business function from initial customer contact through design, specification, testing and ultimately to go-live.

The role is extremely diverse and challenging offering the most capable of individuals full end to end exposure to all phases of software development lifecycle and with full accountability from onset to delivery.

If you are looking for position that offers you greater responsibility and rewards for your work and if you think you have the skill and ability to deliver within a progressive company, then please get in contact.

Developer

We are also looking for a Developer.

They are looking for an individual with proven knowledge and educated to a high level (As and A*s at A Level) and a good degree in computer science, IT or a relevant field. This is an entry level role where the chosen candidate will be willing to work long hours in a challenging environment.

They are looking for someone with the following skills:

  • *MVC
  • HTML
  • JavaScript
  • JQuery
  • CSS
  • XML/XSD
  • ASP.NET (WebForms)
  • WebServices
  • SOAP
  • Data Modelling
  • SQL

You will need a mix of technical and creative skills with a good eye for detail.

A good understanding of internal data models is required. The chosen candidate will also be designing data structures that the client can publish to clients that are flexible but also easy to work with.

Other projects will include integration work (e.g. connecting to existing client systems to send emails, generate documents, perform logon/security functions etc.)

It is important that you will have an idea of how all these layers link together. Any experience of ORIGO would be a nice to have as it’s one of our major integration tasks.

Generally, experience of working with larger clients/systems is really beneficial too, both in terms of being comfortable with the scale and what a client’s expectations are likely to be.

Please email me on [email protected] if you're interested.

Thanks!

I started a masters in reservoir engineering last September for oil and gas, a few weeks later the oil price crashed and so did the graduate job market. Just my luck as I'll be graduating in a few weeks... Anyone here in oil and gas have any advice?

It's an unfortunate time to be graduating :(

I would just apply to as many oil & gas operators as you can, small and large. You just have to apply to as many grad schemes as you can, although it will be even more competitive atm.

Excellent thread idea :)

My issue is that I have a 2.2 undergraduate degree, which immediately rules me out for all the best firms.
For instance, my Masters degree that I'm currently studying for aligns me perfectly for the job Kreeeee posted, but I know that the 'big 4' will reject me in the first round of sifting.

Hehe I got a 2:2 BSc (Hons) Software Engineering (and IIRC 98% pass grade for Pragmatic Marketing certification)

It's funny that the agents look at the requirement for 2:1 in a technical degree but miss the fact that I have 18 years of software - including high end consultancy work, business case ownership (>$1M), technical product management and been responsible for conceptualisation of product offerings, demonstrated development of new product ideas - from zero market to delivered and operational.

So.. about that 2:1 requirement.

I was asked once - why, as I seemed to be a very intelligent person, did I get a 2:2? (the choice was drugs, women or partying). This was in in an interview where the company friday afternoon beer trolley appeared and the interviewers cracked open bottles of Bulmers. I kid you not.

I'm looking for a software-based role - Product Management / Technical Product Management / Technical Project Management / Development manager - London City through the A3/train corridor all the way down to Havant and Guildford-Surrey area.

Masses of mobile experience, however (and this is the crux) I'm looking to move into new areas but utilise my extensive experience.
