C#/SQL Server developer required, here's the rough spec. It's working for an alternative investment company (based in London, natch), primarily on a re-platforming project for several datawarehouses/ETL services.

The candidate must display strong fluency in C# language and high quality development practices. As part of the re-platforming we want to ensure a high engineering quality is a fundamental part of the delivery. To this end we also want to see a strong testing mentality and understanding of risk management/quality techniques (e.g. Code Coverage, Code reviews etc.)

The role will have direct business exposure to both the front office and support areas comprising Operations, Risk and Compliance -therefore it is critical the candidate has an understanding of the business domain and acumen for business relationships and communication.

Technical competencies

• Expert knowledge of C# (to .NET 4.5)
• A good working knowledge of WPF
• Strong knowledge of one or more relevant database technologies e.g. SQL Server, Oracle etc
• A proponent of strong collaborative software engineering techniques and methods: agile development, continuous integration, code review or pairing, unit testing, refactoring and related approaches.
• WCF
• Experience in one or more dependency injection frameworks (Autofac, Unit etc)
• SSIS/SSAS (Desirable)
• Multi-threading / Concurrency (Desirable)

Up to £85k plus benefits/bonus, etc.

Live within 1 hour of London
Have 5 GCSEs grade A-D
Be suitable for an Apprenticeship in IT support
Be available to start before the end of March 2016

Apprentices will earn £1000 per month getting hands-on experience at a top London employer while gaining important IT qualifications. After the 1 year Apprenticeship programme, 90% of our Apprentices go on to fulltime employment in IT.

I'm also after some SOC/Cyber Analysts up in Leeds. Will be performing Security Incident Response, as well as tuning, maintaining and supporting the kit. Need to know Arcsight (connectors, loggers, ESM & Express), Cisco IDS (ideally the new FireSight & Firepower), Symantec HIDS and Bit 9 Carbon Black Enterprise Response.

Usual stuff of past experience looking after networks (Cisco, Checkpoint, Juniper, F5, Bluecoat etc) and servers is advantageous.

Various IT roles in service desk etc, DBA, QA, Security Operations, Software Dev, Database Dev, MI, Application/SQL Support, and some sales roles - not keyword spam :p just a lot of different roles available. Company is in Stoke, approx 300 employees.
