Thorney Motorsport

Hmmm...seems this was written under pressure.

That's how it reads to me too, especially given the passion written into the original thread.

I'm also highly dubious that the original thread was posted when the car "had not been finished".

No-one would be that upset and that ready to take legal action over final payment, if the car was still being worked on.

This situation had completely ballooned out of control, I had no intention of maligning Thorney Motorsport or John Thornes’ reputation

Yeah... right.

That for me discredits the entire post. It is nothing more than a forced reply after negotiating remuneration with regards to the ruined car.

2nd read - obviously something written in partnership with someone, definitely re-written a few times out.

I know this sounds conspirotal (sp?), but the quotation mark at the end of the post...smells of a copy-paste job off another document, if ya get me.

Says that the condition of the car was mid work and was not representative of the final thing, then goes on to say it was delivered like that and that Thorney offered to take it back to put it all right.

Quick read of that - we'll buy your car off you, but in doing so, take it all back publically.

I agree entirely with this. It looks to me like Thorney have agreed to buy the car off him in return for Thorney's lawyers drafting an apology on his behalf and his agreement to posting it. Hope it was enough money to make up for him looking a bit silly in doing a U-Turn.

It reads exactly like the sort of apology lawyers draft for newspapers to print when they run an inaccurate story and libel is threatened.

Why the hell would you want Thorney to buy the car off him, if I was him I'd rather Thorney fixed all the issues free of charge, and returned any money he has had to pay for their services in the first place.
