its a possibility, given how much car-stuff is interweb reliant now. it will be the minority of customers who dont do any research before spunking a ton of cash on a car and google is crawling with threads from upset customers.

shame though, but as has been said, it was his choice the cause the disaster.

my money says all the threats are completely hollow, he just wants people to shut up sooner so it all blows over, but given the hilarious over reaction by john thorn himself, people will remember this and he will become a cautionary tale.

The problems with the car didn't stop with the wiring, which it seems Thorney only refers too. He seems to fail to comment on the other apparent shoddy work and delays.
 
On a separate note I have been looking at their website and they sell a TMS VXR that does 0-60 in 5.2 seconds minus a diff with 280bhp. Anyone have a link to any official timing for this? They have an option for an ATB diff so that would bring it down closer to 5.0 secs no?

surprisingly there is no mention of this on the VXR forums

and the VXR tuning market is their second biggest one after the BMW. ANd VXRonline is where most of their VXR revenue is generated from with there promise of keeping your factory warranty.

Plus they've had loads of issues like this already, but are still in business.

They are very fond of throwing their weight and blame around. Observe exhibit A

This was subsequently prooved to be complete balderdash, because they had their own "safely tuned" cars fail with the same issue, and some standard cars as well.

But thorneys allegations (aimed squarely at regal motorsport) were never taken down.

They were of course rubbished by every other vauxhall tuner, including the 2 most respected tuners in germany who are normally bitter rivals (EDS and Klassen motors) but still the garbage stayed on their website.
 
He had openly called Chris Tullett exhausts liars and cheats before on the forum just because they dared to sell a competing product. If you ask anyone in the tuning world what they think of him the usual reply is "oh I know what they're" like or "we've had run ins with them before.

He's completely miss-stated the law in several important aspects. The risk from a libel action is nil and he knows it. Especially as he has clearly libelled the customer in return, with far more serious allegations.

I might get some feedback from my boss on this, seeing as he was the lawyer responsible for defending the maxwell group of newspapers through the 80s and 90s against the plethora of libel actions brought against them!
