Didn't Mourinho say he wanted him to stay for at least another season? Extremely unlikely regardless. Ba is motivated by money and there's no way we'd be able to match his wages at Chelsea.

Mourinho says a lot of things :p

But yes, if he's chasing money then you're right - he's likely to go elsewhere. He's on £70k per week at the moment I believe.

Everytime I come into this thread there's a new Man U rumour...I know that's the purpose of the thread but they tabloids aren't half going through them. Fabregas, Pogba, Hummels, Di Maria, Sanchez, Shaw, Schweinsteiger, Vidal, Muller :D

Thats not even a tenth of the rumours just for this week :D

You just arent trying if you dont include at least two Dutch players lol

The silly thing is that even if he disliked the player, if he gave him enough games to get him to sign, then he becomes a very sellable asset rather than letting him walk for free. They needed central midfielders for the past 4 years. Cleverley got injured and Anderson was rubbish anyway, play him even if he is a ****(I've seen absolutely no indication he is), get him to sign a new contract. Let him get a season under his belt so people are interested then sell him for whatever you can get 5mil is still 5mil more than they got, if it was something absurd like a 60mil to Real deal, then they get 60mil.

This is why the whole thing is bizarre, if he was a disruptive influence, play him enough to turn him into an asset they can sell. If he was great, play him and see how great, if he was rubbish then he still should have got a reasonable shot to show this one way or the other. Plenty of other poor players got a chance. I still can't believe based on how Pogba was playing from September through December, that he wasn't looking very good a year earlier.

My guess is Pogba also banged Moyes daughter, with Moyes and Fergie being such good friends, Moyes asked Fergie to not play Pogba either.

I think you are missing the point slightly. Fergie picked the team he thought would win. You may consider that Pogba would have increased man utd's chances of winning but Fergie obviously didn't.

Fergie was pretty good for man utd too.

Di Maria AND Sanchez would do me. :p I'd probably pick the latter if it could only be one.

.

Serously!? Di Maria has been outstanding. His performance in CL final and vs Barca had my jaw on the floor
We've signed Sidwell for two years on a free from Fulham. I thought he was Fulham's best player by a long shot last season, hopefully he'll do a job for us.

Yep, good signing

I'd be quite happy with either, but I think Sanchez has a bit more power which might be better in the PL. I might be wrong though, I've not seen loads of him, but a fair bit.

A few places are claiming we're trying to sign Alba and Sanchez from Barca, I assume Alba is a backup incase the Shaw deal doesn't work out. If true.

Hmm struggling to see Barca's tactics if they did shed Alba, Fabregas, Valdes and Puyol all within a few months of each other. They must have a lot of faith in the new ex celta vigo boss restructuring if it's all going to happen for real.

I know, I know, but you can almost guarantee that the club see him as Cabaye's replacement. Replace YoCabs and Ba and I'll be less likely to wanna slit my wrists when the season starts.

I've already read that Gomis is a done deal, from the same source that broke the Ayoze and Colback deals.

Gomis should be of equal calibre to Ba (unproven I admit), as for Cabaye, I was hoping Cabella would replace him, but the Montpellier owner is being a right **** about it.

That loyalty though.

Some reports saying we have agreed a £160,000/week deal for Shaw as well as whatever transfer fee has been agreed. If that is true it is utter madness. He is a good young player but we are going to end up forking over £25m plus as well as giving a 19 year old wages that are astronomical for someone so young. What do you pay him in 5/10 years time.

People get so bent out of shape for headline figures. Same with rooneys pay rises, yet they always include bonuses and image rights etc etc. People seem to automatically assume 160k per week. You need good players and with your position in the league last year you have to pay over the odds, like everyone else that wanted to attract players from outside the top 4 over the years.
