I really hope these pre season results don't lead to us thinking we don't need signings.

You must live in hope that Van Gaal watched the team perform last season and has spent time talking to coaches at the club.

Manchester United need rebuilding.

A couple of months ago I got offered tickets to the Man Utd vs Real game from today...Wish I'd gone now, 109,000 spectators would have been pretty special and the game was pretty good.

So the fact that Rodgers again confirmed sturridge hamstring has taken a knock just shows exactly why we need another 1st team striker I'm not confident that lambert can do as well as him if needed

Woo sensible reply :D.

I agree, I thought about it more and basically came to a similar conclusion that basically that **** wouldn't fly with UEFA. I'm sure (or rather I hope) that UEFA would have had the foresight to envisage the majority of situations including loan players.

It wasn't so much a genius idea, more of the trail of thought of a Tummy after too much Rioja.

And then you look at what Uefa gave Barca over their dodgy Neymar deal and realise the above requires far too much intelligence from Uefa :)

Utd had pretty decent European results last season, so its not that surprising vs the teams Utd have played so far (and LAGalaxy isnt even that good) that we got decent results imo

Depending on what team we face in the final ( ie whether its a mix of kids amd 1st teamers or whether BR selects a proper team, and changes at half time) may give more of an indication to LvG' s thoughts

It surely HAS to be seen as too much risk going with the current squad due to necessity for CL games next season

Mentality last season has a lot to do with a good proportion of the results last season but even so, thats not going to cover the 30 or so points difference to get top 4

30 points more needed to get in the top four........ really?

An extra 20 would mean we were equal with Liverpool in 2, but given how Chelsea and Man City should have improved (and possibly Liverpool as well, although this is a lot harder to work out), an extra 25-30 is probably required yes

If you belive Internet rumours we have agreed fee for baloteli and personal terms agreed aswell including him getting number 7 shirt. Oh and bayern pulled out of getting reus too supposedly

You think Man.U. would need 89 points minimum just to get in the top 4?

1stly given how close thr top three were last season ( within 4 points) and the fact that for definite Chelsea and City have strengthened significantly ( at the very least their squad if not 1st XI) they should be aiming for 90+

Liverpool and to a lesser extent Arsenal are harder to quantify, Liverpool because their main man has left and Arsenal because they usually tail off at the end of the seasom amd because so far their main purchase could tail off too while acclimatising to the Epl but they could still be there abouts

Yes I could see 85+ potentially being needed to get top 4
