He's not though, is he.

If he wants to play, he will, and he will play well. if he doesn't want to play, he won't. he is one of the more inconsistent players in the world.

Also, he doesn't work well in a team I feel. You need to have him as your point of reference, or else he will not do well.

You can check his performances last season for Milan, and in the world cup. Always looked zoned out and uninterested.

Would I want him in my team? Absolutely not.

I agree that he takes more cajoling than most players to get him playing well, but when he's on song he's as good as anyone up front. Given the price of strikers currently, £16m is a bargain, and he's well worth the risk.

I would. 30 goals in 54 games for Milan? Hell , he may zone out from time to time, but there are a lot of footballers out there who never zone out and don't score like that.

If he scored goals at that ratio for Liverpool, he can zone out all he wants, especially for the token price of £16m :)

Because he is crap.

Hahahahahahahahahaha.

Yup, for me he is one of those players...its the reason why tennis was so more interesting with John McEnroe playing, snooker so much more interesting with Alex Higgins or Ronnie O'Sullivan playing and so on. The "wild" ones often make a sport all the more interesting, so I'm excited to see him back.

He may be wild, but at least he isn't a complete git like Suarez.

Hmm will be interesting to see him back, I was once of the belief that he could become the best striker in the world but despite his goal scoring record in lets be honest a quite poor league he still hasn't developed any more since he was at City or could argue when he was at Inter.

He just seems to be the same person and player. 16m is a good price on paper and it may be a master-stroke or Liverpool are selling him in two years after inconsistent performances for 10m euros or something ridiculous.

He will be great for Liverpool.

Get the feeling he needs to be "the man" and at Liverpool I can see that being the case.

He also needs loving which Rogers will no doubt supply(!)

For that price, it's either master stoke or a mistake we can easily live with.

He certainly has the talent to make a big difference. He's still only 24 too.

I'd love to see him in the squad for the city game on monday.

What a great deal, swift and not too pricey.

£16 million for him is a pennies risk worth taking. Still young, bags of talent, just still yet to reigned in which Rodgers has every chance of doing.

I ******* hate Woodward :(

Fun Fact(ish):
Liverpool will pay Balotelli £90k a week to play for them, while Manchester United will pay Nani £120k a week to play for Sporting Lisbon...

This can only end well.

Its no different from those managers who believe things will be different when they sign players who have had entire careers blighted by injuries.

He wont be any different, he will still be a stroppy, inconsistent, lazy, nutcase of a player who liverpool will more than likely look to sell on in 2 seasons time themselves when they too get sick of him.

And here come all the haters.

Didn't seem to stop Barca splashing £65 million on Suarez.

They will be able to sell him for something around that if not more though if they decide to get rid. Proven goal scorers are always in demand even if they are a little nutty.

Too early to tell if Balotelli is a good signing or not, but at 16m why the hell not? He could be great or he could have massive strops and fights again. Either way it's great entertainment for everyone.

Regarding Di Maria, to paraphrase a comment on sky sports:

- Says he wants to leave RM and has turned down a new contract
- PSG have said he is too expensive and have ruled themselves out
- LVG says United are missing a player of Di Maria's quality
- Woodward says United have plenty of money to spend

Why then do I still have zero hope they'll sign him?

and still no approach from man u still according to sky sports woodward should just go

Biz used to claim he (and Dzeko) was better than Suarez.
Did I?
Would like to see a quote of that.

However saying that, who would I rather have in my team out of those three. Dzeko is the answer.

Anyway, Valencia apparently want Negredo and we will sell if he want's to go.
With Jovetic actually being fit for selection now and Aguero hopefully over his injuries it will mean less game time for him and he is 29 and will want to be playing.

Will be interesting to see if we sell him and then if we end up replacing him.

Di Maria p's me off after that "It hurts when you’re always doing your best for your club and then you hear that you might be going to Tottenham" quote.

And now he's realised he's not even good enough himself to take a starting place in that Real side. What an idiot, I hope he goes to United and flops.
