Too early to tell if Balotelli is a good signing or not, but at 16m why the hell not? He could be great or he could have massive strops and fights again. Either way it's great entertainment for everyone.

Regarding Di Maria, to paraphrase a comment on sky sports:

- Says he wants to leave RM and has turned down a new contract
- PSG have said he is too expensive and have ruled themselves out
- LVG says United are missing a player of Di Maria's quality
- Woodward says United have plenty of money to spend

Why then do I still have zero hope they'll sign him?

Our job is convincing him to miss CL football for at least one season. I think it'd help if we'd signed another big name player already, but it's a bit late for that now.

I'm sure we're looking into it, at the very least, but it won't be straightforward. PSG will likely find a way to get the deal done...

Then you have to consider that he doesn't naturally slot into our team all that easily, but he'd be our best player so someone else would need to be left out.

It'll be amusing to see Balotelli at Liverpool, probably worth the gamble at £16m. Thank god they've got him and not Falcao. :p

Di Maria p's me off after that "It hurts when you’re always doing your best for your club and then you hear that you might be going to Tottenham" quote.

And now he's realised he's not even good enough himself to take a starting place in that Real side. What an idiot, I hope he goes to United and flops.

That was taken well out of context.

Cheers mate, when I said can I have a quote it wasn't in a sarcastic way. I was just wondering.

I stand by what I said about Dzeko but Suarez is twice the player Balotelli is. At the time I don't remember Suarez being that fantastic, perhaps I just didn't watch him that much but he certainly to me seemed to get better the past two years.

On what planet is Dzeko "by far and away" better than Suarez? He's good and has won Man City plenty of games, but...

Suarez was better than both at that time although finishing could be improved (which it did), he played in a much worse team.

He's twice the player Dzeko is now

Sorry I didn't make it clear, No I stand by what I said earlier...I would rather have Dzeko in my team than Suarez.

Doesn't mean he is better but I would prefer Dzeko.

Exactly. I said previously that I'd take him on loan but would be cautious of signing him on a permanent but at that fee there's no risk.

Just saw this quote on an article:

"Summer 2014: When Toni Kroos, Arturo Vidal and Cesc Fabregas were all available at the right price and MUFC didn't make a single offer."

:(

we wouldn't of had a chance with kroos if real were interested.

fabregas apparently wanted to move back to london, so no chance.

vidal... maybe a slight glimmer of something, but by all accounts his knee is fubar'd, so even if we did it would be a gamble.

Why are Milan selling Balotelli for such a small fee?
Are they desperate for cash or desperate to get rid of him?

Whereas Suarez's issues gave Liverpool problems off the pitch, he did nothing but put his all into the team when he was available. He was never sent off (that I recall) so never cost his team in matches that way, which is something I have a hard time feeling Balotelli will follow.

As odd as it sounds given his issues, Suarez was a team player. Balotelli isn't, and I was never convinced he was that good with a football either. At one point I was not sure what he brought to the Man City team - he wasn't that quick, didn't have a trick, certainly didn't have any work ethic (something Liverpool will miss when he's in the team) - all he had was a decent shot, but he didn't use it enough.

I read a tweet earlier that he only had one assist in the Premier League, but it was the assist for Aguero's title winner.

At £16m it's a bargain, but if he's on big wages (which he surely will), it's less appealing, and he'll be harder to move on if (when?) it doesn't work.

His off field antics I'm very much looking forward too though!

Cash. Can't rmember the name of the guy but they need money to make another signing and Balotelli supposedly wants out after the Italy/WC fan reaction.

Edit: they're after Cerci
