BBC saying Real apparently want £75mil for Di Maria??? Thats bonkers. I'd rather just spend it wisely on players we need. Just sign 2 players we need before the window closes and then wait till january or next summer...

Seems (unconfirmed) that it'll be around £64m~ including the add-ons, which will only be triggered if we do really well. So the initial main fee is around £56m. Not sure if it's being paid all in one go, or what.

Well as long as it triggers a couple more players to come to us it can't do too much harm... thats if we keep the signing under £60m

It's most definitely a good purchase, United need someone with the pace and directness that Di Maria offers, the only other player I can think of who does similar things is Robben.

As we saw last weekend, the only player who looked like beating his man and running at pace was Januzaj. Otherwise United's attacking trio/quartet looked slow and incapable of beating players.

I hope this doesn't mean an end to their business though, still desperately need that established CB and DM/CM.

Needless to say those reports of spending 200 million quid this window aren't looking too far off now, if Di Maria goes through as expected I make that around 130-140 million so far and you could do with at least two more players in the 20 million region to be competing properly for the CL spaces.

It's just frustrating that 2 games into the season and we can basically write this one off. We're still trying to sign players when the season started weeks ago and we've just thrown away points because of incompetence. Everyone else does their business in the ******* summer and actually starts their season with the first game.

Do you think Carrick would have helped? He's part of the same sickness. Slow on the ball, slow off the ball, slow to move the ball forwards. ponderous in every sense of the word.

I don't rate Carrick all that highly (like some), but he's far, far better than Fletcher and Cleverley. Carrick and Herrera will be a pairing with weaknesses, but they're in a different league to what we had out there today.
