Only time will tell. If Sanchez picked up a knock while Giroud was out, you'd be ****ed. With the way you play and the fact that in the majority of games you'll be controlling games, you can get by without another/a better DM.

And why the **** am I trying to convince Arsenal fans that Welbeck isn't that bad? :o

I did wonder this :p. I think it's because United fans have given up on trying to defend Welbeck and I'm just a bit sad about it really.

It wasn't welbeck's goal return that was the problem, it was his touch, his headless chicken runs, his blind passing and his lazy flicks. He does a whole lot of running but offers very little else. By no means the worst player in the world (Valencia and Sanogo are competing for this.) however he's never going to be a top level player, he's mid table.

All of these statements are wrong.

That's a fair point, if Sanchez picked up a knock we'd be relying on Sanogo up top, in a pinch Podolski could play there but he doesn't have a particularly good record up front and many if not all of his Germany goals have come from starting out wide left and drifting inside which is what he's best at. For DM's records I believe Novakovic was Cologne's frontman for at least a few seasons and I don't remember Podolski playing up top much at Bayern either.

I suppose but when we concede it's either from a hilariously-defended set piece or it's from being countered quickly. Our full backs always seem to get caught up the pitch and Arteta isn't quick enough or powerful enough to make any sort of defensive contribution when teams are breaking quickly against us. We could do with a Gilberto type of player who can break up opposing play and turn defence into attack, surprised we didn't make much of an effort to sign Gustavo before he moved to Wolfsburg.

So Wellbeck for the same money as Balotelli?
Know who I'd rather have!

Falcao is all well and good, but why bother, why not just use Hernandez rather than loan him out?
The defence is what Utd need to sort out, the attacker, on paper, were ok.

Balotelli is a hate figure. He wouldnt have fit in at Arsenal. Not the right temperament. Maybe a decent player but he would destabalise the squad by being the biggest ego.

I have no opinion on Wellbeck. Neither happy or disappointed by the signing. I'll give him time and make an opinion.

My only disappointment is Arsenal didn’t try and sign Sturridge when he was available.

Sadio Mane to Southampton confirmed by Southampton themselves.

Sounds interesting, goal scoring player, forgot who the other guy you got was but seems like a decent window though a lot of players that will need to prove themselves, a lot of potential.

Was hoping to god Falcao failed his medical and Welbeck would get cancelled.

Why on earth weren't we looking for a Negredo loan over Welbeck :(

Why didn't we buy Ba or Remy... why Welbeck.

Sky must be mad, it's obvious every roaming reporter they go to now will get the same response. :p

As Charlie Brooker once said, most often the reporter "on the scene" actually knows the least and just reading info fed to him by some bod in an office with access to the internet.

They do it for show/ratings. The presenters look embarrassed and apologise for bad language whilst out the back the producers pop open another champagne bottle as the ratings shoot up.
