Why would he get the huff if RVP becomes captain, the vice captain will wear the armband more often than him anyway. Making RVP captain would be kind of pointless considering the number of games he will most probably play.

his fitness will return to pre Moyes levels now though, back to a full season of play :p

Only if he wasn't really injured. I have read little hints here and there that his injuries and niggles were a reluctance to play under moyes. Personally I think he will miss as many games as ever and the 18 months good spell he had was just lucky. I can't see him getting less injury prone as he get's older.

It will be interesting to watch his fitness level this year, either way.

The other way of looking at it is that his body hasn't been under the same level of stress as many others due to the sporadic injuries throughout much of his career, so he may well have another couple of years at the top of his game than many of his peers would have - assuming he doesn't suffer a major injury of course.

If that is true then I wouldnt want him playing for my club, I culd understand at the end of Moyes' spell, but not at the start.

Regardless, should be just as interesting to watch Man U this season as it was last season :D

If that happens I will eat my hat. You got £37m for Mata because he is a top top player. If you get anything near £30m for Luiz I will be stunned. He really isn't that great so why would PSG pay well over the odds for a player when FFP has already hit them.

All the papers are reporting it. I hope you have a small hat. :p

Honestly...The best defense last year, second best this year. Trust me, it was nothing to do with Gordon Greer!! We were incredibly lucky to have him, he was far too good for the Championship. Head and shoulders above everybody else in most games.

Well I might trust you, had he appeared in the team of the season in either of those seasons. But he didn't, and you think he was the best player in the league :/

McCormack was clearly the best player in the league this season. Ings got it because Burnley did well and Leeds didn't, but McCormack outscored him in a worse team.

It might have been Charlie Austin if he had played the whole season. But then, QPR would have had automatic promotion if he had.

I forgot about Austin...God I hope QPR don't go up! They have had to make do with Austin, Zamora, Doyle, Johnson, Maiga up front at different stages this season...backed up by massively payed midfielders(Kranjcar, Benayoun, Hoillet, Barton, Wright-Phillips, Morrison etc). It really is criminal that they didn't go up automatically, and didn't score many goals. Great job 'Arry!

being a bit more serious, I might admit Upson maybe wasn't THE best, but he has been exceptional, in an unremarkable team

Love how they big up the rivalry, when it looks like we've completely dropped any interest in him and moved onto potentially better targets (Shaqiri, Pedro, Sanchez).

Also typical Daily Mail claiming it was going to be a £20m deal when all we had done is met the same release clause being mentioned now. The only reason he didnt move then is because the Dnipro owner refused to sell. He's sounded pretty desperate in recent quotes, so i'll be surprised if any of the three clubs are actually interested in him.

Isnt this the player that Baz mentioned in Jan that Liverpool heirarchy started ***** around after a verbal deal had already been agreed previously?

Dnipro claim that we didnt transfer the money in time, but everywhere else reports that the owner refused to sign the paperwork after the deal was agreed.

Something about him being good friends with Konoplyanka and it was too difficult to let him go. Completely ridiculous and a massive waste of time.
