I do love Evra, glad he's staying, we need an older head in there and he can learn from Shaw :D

Shaw's a done deal, Mark Ogden of the Telegraph has been briefed about it apparently, he's just said something on MUTV according to RedCafe.

If thats the case then fair enough, but womt be convinced until he is holding a Chevy sponsored shirt lol

The other possibility is that LvG is thinking of a 3-5-2 formation with Raf and Shaw/Evra being positionally more advanced....but Utd would definitely need one or maybe two new cemtre halfs for that to work ( considerimg how often ours get injurred lol)

I'm not expecting any Southampton related deals to be confirmed and announced until Pochettino is confirmed as staying or going.

Apparently Konoplyanka was interviewed after the Ukraine friendly and when asked about a transfer to United said;

"Man United? I would rather stay at Dnipro."

He said (I've seen a few different translations): "If I have a choice between MUFC and Dnipro - likely I will stay in Dnipro. But let's not anticipate things"

Seems a fairly generic answer to me?

Luiz's transfer price is certainly large, but he's unique. A destroyer who can protect the back four and maraud forward, as well as drop anywhere into the defensive line. While he can be a liability defensively, he's as good as anyone at defending in front of a back four, and arguably PSG would have gone further in the Champions League this (and last) season had they had him in their team. He's utterly useless in a 4-4-2 or attacking 4-3-3, but with a more defensively minded 4-3-3 there aren't many better in his position.

I doubt it. Pochettino has done a fantastic job, and while I'm sure they're enjoying the ride, I'm not sure the players have an especially close relationship with him. Personally I think Shaw and Lallana might be better served staying at Southampton, but if they (the team) have a poor season next year then it will hurt their value (especially Lallana - Shaw still has an entire career ahead of him, but Lallana is already hitting his prime and only a couple of years younger than Milner).

Southampton have been good and solid, but they are far from established yet and it won't take much for them to drop into a relegation battle if team morale drops (Fulham, West Brom, Villa, Swansea, Newcastle, etc).

Near £50m for Luiz? **** me!

The UK press seem to have picked up on the Emre Can to Liverpool deal and are reporting tonight that a deal is close to being done.
