BBC report that Fabregas is set for £30m exit from Barca, obviously Arsenal may well be interested, he could link up with Mata at Man U though perhaps Van Gaal might not be as keen on him as Moyes was. Not convinced he's the same player he was first time round for us, I think he lacks the dynamicism he had at Arsenal, he seems more of a pseudo centre forward now.

Even at this point Utd are more likely to win something sooner than Wenger lol

Completely baffled by that comment tbh! Man U have only half a bad team RVP is over the hill and Rooney seems to have the motivation of a snail. Mid table for Man u next season methinks.

"Ok."

I think he's most likely to go to Man City, if anywhere... Especially if Toure is leaving (even though I wouldn't say they're the same sort of player).

We're definitely in with a shout to get him, if we stump up the big wages. With a top manager and some new signings, we'll be right back near the top in no time at all.

I do think we'll take a few gambles on youth (younger) players (like Jordy Clasie maybe).

I think man city have enough midfielders already. Man u have a lot of work to do they have so many poor overpaid players that are going nowhere now the glory days are gone. Van Gaal is nowehere near a 'messiah' he doesn't exactly have a sterling record.

I hope Arsenal don't buy Fabregas, why walk over Wilshere and Ramsey's potential. Ozil can more than fill anybody's shoes.

Work to do, yes. Quite why we're being talked about like we've just gone bankrupt and been relegated is confusing (and no doubt based mostly on wishful thinking).

A bad transfer window and a car crash of a managerial appointment isn't the end of the world. At least it's dropped expectations rapidly, which is a positive.

I just don't think Utd are as attractive as thy were with Fergie. They will need to spend big to get the players in and even then like spurs it doesn't always go to plan.

The pressure is still going to be there despite what you say, the fans won't except another middle table finish again and as soon as a few losses come up the doubters will be piling on the pressure.

Not even sure who they are going to buy that is available. Someone like Fabregas would look at Arsenal and see what's changed, if he doesn't like that then he will go for the best price or chance of winning something, which at the moment would be Liverpool (until Suarez goes) or city/chelski.

Do you think Fabregas leaving Barcelona is also motivated by him wanting to be reunited with Wenger? I think this would be more plausible than seeing him at Chelsea or City, but Liverpool is still possible I guess.

Also, what the hell with all the Lallana rumours ? I thought he was definitely on a move to Liverpool, but now Spurs want to snatch him?

As for United, there doesn't seem to be much right now, but this could be because Van gaal is concentrating on the World Cup, and keeping his options open based on performances in the tournament from certain players as well.

Doesn't the FA Cup count any more?

You can't win it if you aren't in it...so Arsenal are the more likely of the two :p

fab cant win last seasons FACup though

And considering the drought at Arsenal before that single win, yes Utd are more likely to win anything before Arsenal win anything else

Edit as for any AM's choices between Chelsea, Liverpool, City, Arsenal and Utd - Its not like there are abundant places up for grabs in majority of those teams, and ok there is Silva at City from an international point of view but there is DDG and Mata at Utd.

Of course its not a clear cut choice but to ignore any team from that list is pretty close minded

No I think he would only leave if told he is unwanted at barca. I think the wenger link helps Arsenal if he does but I don't think it will happen unless he is kicked out. Despite his successful stats there seems to be a media fuelled hatred of him.

I would love it if he returned to Arsenal so hopefully it drives him back to us.

I think Arsenal have two major advantages in this whole thing.

1) First option.

2) The relationship with Wenger - Fabregas had a great relationship with Wenger when he was at Arsenal, he was an Arsenal fan, and we've seen how much these things mean to him in the past. ie the desire to go to Barcelona and link up with Pep.

Having said all that, I'd be damn surprised if he came back to Arsenal.
I'll be even more surprised if he ends up at another premiership team.

I think that would be suitable tbh.

That makes no sense what so ever lol

The possibility of winning something in the future is based on the current teams not who utd had ten years ago... That's not an insult intended to antagonise you, it's just logical.

As Arsenal won the FA Cup this current team are more likely to win something sooner than Utds current team.

This of course doesn't take into account new signings. The draw of his relationship with Wenger and publically stated love of Arsenal makes them strong contenders for his signature.

If Fergie was there I would put Utds chance of signing him much higher even with their current squad. At the moment they just aren't as attractive in my opinion. Just my opinion though.

As has been discussed a few days ago in this thread - these is no 1st option

Because what is discussed in here is law? :p

No one knows if there are clauses in private contracts or not. First option means nothing anyway. The only way we will find out is if Arsenal re-sign him and publically state the price, which they don't usually do.

Torino after Ramirez, they want a loan and we want a transfer. Understandable after Osvaldo didn't turn up for Juventus and now we'll probably be stuck with him.

And with the same logic, because Arsenal won something last season makes it less likely they will win anything for the next few ( recent Arsenal history proves this)

He has been there done that and because of whos there in his position may well not choose to go back

Just because you loved an ex in the past has no relation to how you feel about her today whatever caused the breakup

Whatever happens in the WC and despite the FACup win I would wager that right now in the footbaling world LvG's stock is higher than Wenger's

LvG has also won major prizes in three different leagues, and usually in short time frames

Utd have won more things in the last four years than Arsenal have in the last 8 and thats with majority of the curent Utd team lol

If Fabregas came to the Premier League again I could see him going to Man City or if they don't want him Man United, no offense to Arsenal but now that he has played for the mighty Barcelona he might see Arsenal as beneath him and chase the big money etc.

Cesc will be at City too I reckon if he does come to England , Arsenal would be just wasting money if they even bother they have actual issues to fix first
