And with the same logic, because Arsenal won something last season makes it less likely they will win anything for the next few ( recent Arsenal history proves this)

He has been there done that and because of whos there in his position may well not choose to go back

Just because you loved an ex in the past has no relation to how you feel about her today whatever caused the breakup

Whatever happens in the WC and despite the FACup win I would wager that right now in the footbaling world LvG's stock is higher than Wenger's

LvG has also won major prizes in three different leagues, and usually in short time frames

Utd have won more things in the last four years than Arsenal have in the last 8 and thats with majority of the curent Utd team lol

Not sure what half of that even means but I will agree to disagree. :p

My argument was more based on current form logic. Last season they won something. But anyways...

Personally I think Utd have the least chance of getting Fab out of all of those chasing him. If City or Chelski aren't in the race, Liverpool or Arsenal evens if Suarez stays and utd outsiders. Could be wrong but that's what I think.

And the chance of the current utd team winning a trophy without signings I think it's more likely that DM will be positive, optimistic and supportive of Wenger this year :D (Even with their high number of title winning members ;) )

Good luck to both teams. And let's see where fab ends up.

If Fabregas came to the Premier League again I could see him going to Man City or if they don't want him Man United, no offense to Arsenal but now that he has played for the mighty Barcelona he might see Arsenal as beneath him and chase the big money etc.

Or he might think of how much he was loved at Arsenal by the club and return ;)

No harm in dreaming but probably city if I took a punt.

Why would he go to Man City where he only knows Silva? At United he has RVP and Mata and De Gea and a club who has chased him where no one else would. At Arsenal he has his childhood and at Barcelona he has his dream.

So if he does ever leave it will be Arsenal United and will Arsenal want to match United's bids for a position they are well covered? United will go to £40m if needed and Barcelona will probably only sell for a good bit of money. I will be suprised if he does leave Barcelona he could well be using them as a scare tactics to shut up the booers.

According to twitter we agreed for 22m euro fee for monreo based on 3 objectives 15m in cash so guess rest is the objectives, again it's twitter but since reports of him joining us get stronger seems likely :)

Jesus, i literally cringe when people bang on about where a player will go based on their friends. How many friends did Adebayor have at Arsenal when he signed, or City, or Spurs, why make any of those moves.

it was the same thing with Vert to Spurs, the entire summer we had people saying "he'll go to Arsenal because he knows Vermaelen".... cobblers.

10's, 100's of millions of people move jobs to places where they know no one because that is where they want to go. Work is work, friendship CAN be a reason to get a job somewhere, but not the only reason. Also you're presuming he likes Silva, he may hate him, he may hate half of the Arsenal dressing room, he may hate, or love RVP, that won't be the main reason he chooses any club.

Classic response. I know I chose my place of work because I had mates there... Oh wait I moved up north because of the work...I knew no one...

We aren't in a playground choosing to go with our mates :p

The daily express are reporting that Chelsea are offering £18m plus Lukaku for Mehdi Benatia.

Surely this has to be BS? There's no way that Chelsea would be spending effectively £40m on a 27-year old centreback when the Terry-Cahill partnership is working so well - especially with Gallas available as backup. If Chelsea are going to strengthen defensively then surely a defensive midfielder is what they'd be looking for?

Would love this :D:D Benatia is a top player, buy I would pretty much accept even a swap deal. REALLY want Lukaku to Roma, but I feel he will move to Atl. Madrid (in the Diego Costa deal) or go to some other top club.

There is confirmation that Lambert is going to L'Pool. Although I understand all the reasons involved, I would have gone with someone younger, maybe Borini again. He didn't do too bad at Sunderland, mostly at the end of the season (scored a few goals). If Liverpool do manage to get the rumored 15M then I can understand why they would let him go, but letting him go for a 32 year old might be pushing it (although Lambert is a very good player despite his age).

Ciro Immobile (Serie A top scorer and in Italy's WC squad) has confirmed he is joining Borussia Dortmund. Only need to sign the contracts. he was co-owned by Juventus and Torino.

Side note. Co-ownership in Italy has now been abolished. Any existing co-ownership deals have to be finalized this transfer window or the next transfer window (a co-ownership can last 2 years). Not sure what happens to the players who have an option to co-own. I think it still stands...)

what a bizarre signing

Lambert?

I don't think so at all. You need decent strikers when playing as many games as Liverpool hope to next year. I don't see it as any different to when people thought Sheringham to united was bizarre. Far easier to keep players of that age happy with 15-20 starts and the rest as sub appearances.

Cheap, decent form and might get 2 good years out of him from the bench. Can't lose really.

Doesn't really state title push for suarez though does it. Says we are happy to stay near the top but not over do it.

Clubs need more than two good strikers, but when you have a limited budget you can't splash out in a position where you already have two excellent players. It's an intelligent signing which will add depth and variety to the squad without eating into the budget which we need to spend on other positions.

He's clearly not going to be our biggest (except in terms of size) signing this summer. We'll sign bigger names.

Excellent signing in my opinion.

Again, its a squad game. Signing Sheringham at 31 didn't make big statements. Hell he was signed to replace the out going Cantona! Liverpool can't offer 200+k per week to keep 4 supposed top drawer strikers happy. Even then they don't stay happy for long when they play in rotation.

Besides goals has not really been Liverpools problem this year. I think it's a good signing. Still plenty of time in the transfer window and I'm sure this won't be the only option they go for.

£4m for a 13-15 goal a season striker who'd be happy to play for free?

No brainer.

Scored more than any Spurs striker FYI. So I guess either we got a bargain or Soldado and Adebayor are worth less than £4m each. ;-)

Balotelli would be an interesting gamble for wenger. He's a bit of a handful but it would be an interesting buy.

I'd take a punt

Ha if anything he would bring plenty of jokes to Arsenal. Could you imagine him and Wenger having fisticuffs at the training ground then his antics off the field...probably set the Emirates on fire with his blatant disregard of fireworks and where they should be set off safely:p.

Last but not least, his goal scoring celebrations where he lifts up his shirt to reveal the message...why me:D

Yeh definitely worth a punt, cant deny his quality for scoring goals.
