You don't recall Scholes jumping up and punching the ball in the opposition box, or him using his hands to clear it off the line against Fulham in 09? His attempt to punch Alonso? It's not my omg anything, try watching the games

Yes we'll ignore the keane one you brought up or his double stamp on Southgate and call it strong tackling

Makes it alright then for eric :D

I see that Fulham team and think how did they get relegated?!

I don't see Sidwell either, although I think he already confirmed that he is leaving. Also I think quite a few players from the ones left (Mitroglu primarily) will leave.

Yeah, Sidwell has left Fulham. He'll find another Premership club no problem. I think Soton are after him.

Dear god this thread is getting like reading an American sports forum to many stats and nothing like enough speculation! Personally I'm not a big fan of the assist stat as it doesn't for me really reflect the way the game is played.
The assist stat is nonsense. A player could dribble past 10 players then pass to someone who misses from 2 yards and gets nothing, whereas you could just touch the ball and someone knocks it in from 30 yards and you get an assist!...Tbh, like lots of stats I think they can only be positive. If you have assists, you are at least creating goals, in whatever way, but a lack of assists doesn't mean you are bad at all.

So where do we draw the line then? Surely everyone who has had a red card in their United career should never play for the team again?

There's a bit of a difference between handling the ball on the line and what I've referred to regarding Pogba/Suarez.

I mean seriously, come on.

By this metric what does it make you given that you can't do much without losing it completely and getting banned?

[Edit] I see we're starting with the goading a reaction, are you sure you want to do this?

Want to do what? What has Pogba done that is worse than

Attempted to punch someone, awful tackles (which he's admitted to seeking out revenge) and several hand of God attempts and saving off the line with hands
Attempting to end someone's career and stamping on someone's chest several times
Attempting a drop kick to a fan in the crowd?

Want to do what? You're just talking **** and have tried to label incidents as me making them up/grossly exaggerating, I'm baffled you don't remember them

Yeah that's another one. Sidwell confirmed he's leaving yesterday.

Probably the best individual squad we've had, just didn't click for many reasons.

Mitroglou I didn't put an ? because I'm not sure if anyone will stump the cash on him. Reckon he might stay until January.

Am looking forward to seeing some of our youngsters get a lot more game time though, George Williams, Chris David, Patrick Roberts, Moussa Dembele etc.

So a couple of Spanish papers still think we're in for Kroos, but Real Madrid are interested too. I bet we finally decide to try and sign him but it's too late and he goes to Madrid. Typical.

All in all, nobody seems to have a clue what's happening on the transfer front for us. We keep being repeatedly linked with Muller, Kroos/Schweinsteiger, Hummels and now Pogba. The Shaw stuff seems to have settled down now too...

Bleh.

would like to see what LVG could do with Powell and Lingard though both have done very good on their loan spells and Zaha needs to be handled by a good coach to learn a bit more I think

Because it's a bit different when a player has been with the club for many years, with lots of decent service and goals? Yes - it probably does seem shallow but it happens everywhere. I expect you'd defend Suarez to the hills and back and you're welcome to given how close he drove you to the title last year and might well do this year but to me, he'd just be disruptive, expensive, and a massive risk for the money.

Same with Pogba. He's been very outspoken about his lack of respect for the club, the same club that despite mucking him around, also did a lot for him. Therefore I wouldn't want him back, probably even at half that price. United would be better chasing people who probably aren't going to come with the same risks.

Well then I apologise - I expect you won't believe me but I honestly didn't know that about the Fulham game. Generally if United lose I tend to skim read the result and leave it at that, mainly because if I read further it just tends to annoy the hell out of me.

So... just not answering me?

Pogba 'disrespected' the club? That's it?

Well yes. If I was disrespectful to you would you think I was a ****?

And sorry, I just wanted to see how many times I could get you to ask the same question - no offence intended. :D

That shouldn't really change whether you think they're acceptable enough to be at the club, Suarez's behaviour is/was frankly retarded at best that doesn't mean if he leaves I'm going to come out with 'oh he shouldn't be playing for us anyways the scum'. I'd take all the previous United players previously mentioned probably bar Giggs, Pogba has done nothing remotely close to as bad as any of them, so what if he bad mouthed the club giving him no chance on the field, its his livelihood and he evidently deserved a shot at being played for United.

Agree on the money, 60 mil is absolutely hilarious for him and a complete waste of time considering him for that.

Apology accepted but I still think you're talking **** about Pogba :p

Put it this way, would you spend even half that on him to have him at Liverpool?

To me it's a hell of a gamble, and I still think he's a ****. :p

better than Cleverly at least :p

Goes without saying!

Tbh, it is hard to tell with players on loan in the Championship. They should stand out above the rest if they are good, but at the same time don't get much a chance to fit in, and the teams are sometimes not great....I remember Leeds fans saying how crap Barkley was for them a few seasons back, Townsend as well. He is hardly the best player, but easily holds his own on the Premiership....Most fans of the clubs he was on loan at would have you believe he wasn't good enough for them!

All I can say about Lingard is that he scored some important goals, and looked pretty professional. At the end though, a lot of fans wanted him dropped(he will no doubt be star player next year now!)
