Put it this way, would you spend even half that on him to have him at Liverpool?

To me it's a hell of a gamble, and I still think he's a ****. :p

No, I haven't watched enough of him, that doesn't mean to say I wouldn't want him at Liverpool though and I certainly wouldn't brush him off for being outspoken about not being given a chance under an old manager who in his last couple of years clearly was looking at the short term and trying to get number 3/beat City one more time.

Thing is - say a miracle occurred and United prized Suarez away from Liverpool.

Then next season he bangs in 40 goals and nets us the PL and CL.

I'd probably be all "omg let him off, he's alright really" and I admit that. :o

What if the manager/club in question was Brendan/Liverpool?

I'd probably **** them off when they left and if they became good say I was wrong and please come back :D?

Haven't had any players who have left under a good manager to complain about us and them gone on to do better, could argue Xabi fell out with Rafa etc. but I did want him back until he played under the specialist in failure.

Masch is another who was upset with the club/manager and refused to play but I can't really be angry at him for that situation, it wasn't great from him but he wanted to go, they knew that.

Heh, well, as I said I started to find Ronaldo annoying by the end (not his 40 goals mind) but I'd welcome him back with open arms.

I do still think he has a soft spot for United though, I don't think Pogba does (and tbh, would he even negotiate?).

I don't think he does he only talks about how united didn't treat him with respect not as a man blablabla etc

even this quote shows that

And Pogba told Canal+: “It was a very, very difficult moment for me because I was in love with Manchester and I was a Mancunian.

wouldn't want him back anyway

1. it would be embrassing to pay 60m for a player let go for free
2. He just blabs on about United when ever he gets the chance
3. He thought he was bigger than the club and SAF with his ego
4. His agent

Why is feeling betrayed by the club Pogba 'loves' make him a figure of hate?

1. it would be embrassing to pay 60m for a player let go for free

Yes. However, clubs do this. Chelsea recently purchased a midfielder for twenty plus million that they sold for only a couple of million.

2. He just blabs on about United when ever he gets the chance

... Why is this reason to not sign a player? Pogba, from the quote you posted, 'loved' Manchester United and considered himself 'Mancunian'... so why is this seen as a negative?

3. He thought he was bigger than the club and SAF with his ego

Where does this come from? How did Pogba think he was 'bigger' than Manchester United? Why did he think he was 'bigger' than Sir Alex?

4. His agent

What has his agent done?

Poor Paul Pogba, wanted a chance at first team time, was refused it, so rightly (proven by his performances) chose to leave to find first team football, and he's a ****?

Yes, directly on par with someone accused and banned for racist remarks, banned for biting another player more than once, has been clearly seen attempting to injure players. In particular the one in the dutch league where he two footed launched himself in one of the nastiest tackles I've seen.

Pogba is exactly on that level because he... loved Utd, wanted to play, wasn't given any games, so left..... what a little ****.

:p

Mino Raiola has a reputation for being a difficult and subversive agent. I appreciate most have that reputation in this country but he's certainly developed a name for it.

Regarding Pogba from what we see I think it was a mistake to let him go, but then SAF would have worked with him constantly and obviously felt there was something not quite right there. Certainly wasn't the first player he let go for attitude issues and maybe he thought he was/would be a disruptive influence in the squad. It's impossible to know exactly why he didn't give him a chance it's fair to say there were certainly issues.

Goes without saying!

Tbh, it is hard to tell with players on loan in the Championship. They should stand out above the rest if they are good, but at the same time don't get much a chance to fit in, and the teams are sometimes not great....I remember Leeds fans saying how crap Barkley was for them a few seasons back, Townsend as well. He is hardly the best player, but easily holds his own on the Premiership....Most fans of the clubs he was on loan at would have you believe he wasn't good enough for them!

All I can say about Lingard is that he scored some important goals, and looked pretty professional. At the end though, a lot of fans wanted him dropped(he will no doubt be star player next year now!)

This is a geneal comment not something specific to Lingard;

Remember he is still pretty young and he is competing against a lot of much older / more experienced players in his first full season outside much less competitive U21's / U18 competitions

Did the fans genuinely want him out or knew more than likely they wouldnt get him back next season and would prefer those games to go to a player that would be around for the long run?

Bit of both really. There was certainly the feeling that we have no chance of getting him back on loan next year so it was hard to get enthusiastic about him. Also, we had 2 exciting, fast players on the bench who beat players for fun(including Solly March who is gonna be massive!), whereas Lingard, whilst playing on the wing, isn't exactly a flyer. And he didn't really do much outside of popping up with a few important goals really, often looking a bit lost.

Tbh though, even when he wasn't playing brilliantly you could tell there was something about him. There were one or two games where he was easily motm, but also a few where he went missing. He will be a good player, but not the most exciting. I would have him back next year on loan in a heartbeat, but not sure I would pick him in a Prem squad...And we are talking about a team with title aspirations here.

Proven by his performances in a diferent league and over a year later - allowimg for the fact he came good in an inferior league this season ( and yes there were reports in the 12-13 season that he was blamimg team mates for his own mistakes etc, maybe just media maybe not and other similar things)

Doesnt prove anything in regards to how he would have coped over two years ago in the EPL during a full season of playing, he certainly wasnt anything like a Ross Barkely back then for instance

Pace is irrelevamt if the player doesnt have the skills to back them up ( I dont know why a manager would play x over y if he genuinely thought y was better, especially if y is contracted to the club)

Fresh young players are usually hit and miss, with more experience gemerally comes consistancy, but there is too big a skill level difference between the championship and the Epl to really know just yet ( and personally think this is why Zaha was such a flop for two epl teams last season)

He may not be a starter but would be good to flesh out the squad with and give him sub/ cup appearances while resting the stars.

Ezequiel Garay was ready for Manchester United last summer. Confirmed by teammate Lisandro López to A Bola.la.

Benfica centre-back Lisandro López: "Benfica bought me because Garay was going to Manchester United."

moyes...

In July 2010, López joined Arsenal de Sarandí on a free transfer, where he establish himself as top centre back, [2] helping the team win the 2012 Clausura.[3][4]

His performances draw attention from European clubs like Arsenal, A.C. Milan, Málaga CF, [5][6] and Benfica, as potential replacement for his fellow countryman Ezequiel Garay.[7] In 10 July 2013, López signed with Portugal's vice-champions Benfica in a five year deal, with a €35M buy-out clause, being initially loaned for 1 year to La Liga club, Getafe CF.[8][9]
