for that money i can get a second hand u2711 with dells 0 dead pixel warranty.
niggles
any pointers

i canot justify the 600+ somit for the dell but, at just over £500 i would!!
for that money i can get a second hand u2711 with dells 0 dead pixel warranty.
niggles
would have liked to try a glossy screen
I'm still wondering what the definite warranty is regarding pixels
They replace it if it exceeds either:
9 Type A: PIXELS: Constantly on (white) – [referred to as ‘hot pixel’]
9 Type B: PIXELS: Constantly off (black) – [referred to as ‘dead pixel’]
21 Type C: SUB-PIXELS: Constantly on (red, green or blue) or off (black) – [referred to as ‘stuck pixel’]
1 cluster of Type A and B
9 clusters of Type C
ive ummed and arred long enough and made the decision no, cant get a clear dead pixel return policy and its been confirmed there is no OSD on the 400£ model for colour adjusting,
id have to buy the £500 version, and for that money i can get a second hand u2711 with dells 0 dead pixel warranty.
would have liked to try a glossy screen, if the £400 had have had either the 0 dead pixels OR colour adjustment i would have gone for one :/
its one of those.. i want to buy it, but just cant justify it with the niggles

It's a lottery basically, if you get a duff panel you're pretty much stuck with it, this is one of the main reasons they're so much cheaper than Dell etc.
If this is true I will not be purchasing one of these EVER! They might be cheap but that is not a competitive pixel policy.
A) One duff pixel ruins the panel completely for any normal human being with standards.
B) Resell value is vastly reduced if you have to declare duff pixels.
I'm out.
Please explain the clusters?

I'm a normal human being with standards but a had a 30" Dell for over a year with 1 dead pixel. Does that make me a sub generate or a mutant?
Sorry your post is just laughable.
Fair enough if you don't agree with the pixel policy but the price is considerably cheaper than rivals to combat this.
The odd sub pixel I can live with but whole dead pixels or worse stuck pixels I find seriously distracting. The fact that you have to have at least 10 dodgy pixels before they'll replace it is shocking and I won't be buying one until we see a decent amount of responses from those that have bought one. Who knows it might not be an issue at all, time will tell.
2 of these and 2 Ergotron LX desk mounts costs about the same as one apple cinema display. Food for thought.
Has anyone ordered 2? I want pictures. + is the bezel trim silver or white? it looks white in the photos but TFTcentral reckon it's silver.
Can't compare a brand new monitor to a second hand one.
I'm sure a few months down the line you will be able to pick up a 2nd hand hazro for £300ish
