well thats the main bill that needs paying
in all seriousness though, just stumped up unexpectedly for a new set of Bridgestone RE050A all round so I can't justify it at the moment.
sad times as its practically a £200 saving off buying new.
Im sure another one will crop up soon.
Been offered a 2002 black ctr with 70k on the clock for a straight swap with mine.
Gunna hold out for a bit for cash as I am wanting the same as rjkoneill. Had a mate offer me 2.5k for the ST. Soif I can't sell it for 3k, it'll go to my mate.
Dont be in a rush to sell your ST. a fiesta ST should fetch £4k minimum. assuming yours is low mileage, that would be a fair asking price. unless i have missed a massive price crash on them recently.
a 2002 type r for an 05 fiesta st isnt the best swap in the world as private sales would net you more money.
last time i looked, 2.5k was bottom book for an ST so that is worth bearing in mind
Just been to a Honda dealership and within 30 seconds they was around me like vultures lol... Explained I was looking for the EP3 shape and they didn't have any. He then tried throwing me the keys to FN2 Type R for a test drive.
Told him I wasn't interested in the new shape and only after a EP3. He still went on the valuate everything through his head if I traded in my ST. I never even asked lol, he just seen me pull up in it.
On another note, anyone with Churchill? These seem to be coming in cheapest for me at £1500.
dont waste your time with dealers bud, you are best finding one with a nice ep3 that you can test drive. I would personally hold out for a facelift and get a colour you are happy with.
i remember from the ST thread that you have issues with your insurance premiums due to your area, i would go as far to say that from your ST quotes, that £1500ish for a CTR is almost reasonable. i am with greenflag, great company to deal with. and a good specialist. their customer service is excellent too, the guy who set up my policy had a right good chat with me about cars so its obvious that they are enthusiasts
they knocked money off my premium because my last car was a ST so that may be worth calling them about.
Fiesta ST to a CTR is a good move. the big pull in 3rd gear offered by the ST which is where that car makes power is totally eclipsed by the 3rd/4th gear thrashyness of the CTR. I can honestly say, that it was a great move for me and something you wouldnt regret as an ST owner.
