hmm commentary kept on mentioning the heat was still an issue even in the later games over the weekend , so England's early kick off will be a nightmare in itself.

Im hoping for a draw - but also can easily see England 3 down before the break :(
 
Wheres that England spirit gone? Look at Ireland, they don't care if they lose every game, they are there to cheer on their country.

England are just being emo's.

Its not that bad, you guys beat Spain.
 
it is a massive oversight not conditioning for this kind of heat, it really is like giving your opposition advantage.

humidity, heat, altitude training and conditioning is essential if you want to compete and i struggle to see why hodgson hasn't addressed this. welbeck and oxc have energy to burn but parker is going to struggle i feel and even the younger and more spritely athletes will become exhausted a lot quicker than they usually would.

france will know this so will make us chase. so we've now got this problem and all the problems we already had on top of this.

We're just not used to having such an underwhelming team, I'd like to be confident we can get something against France but frankly, we were lucky not to concede several goals against Belgium in our 1-0 win.
 
Sky Sports have said the reports about the team are accurate, so it's:

Hart; Johnson Terry Lescott Cole; Milner Gerrard Parker Oxlade-Chamberlain; Young Welbeck

I hope Chamberlain does well, that's a big vote of confidence from Roy, brave too.

I hope Ox does well, but its a huge ask imo - but his first touch wasnt great in the Belgium? start he had recently.

He will develop Im sure, but I fear it could be like playing with 10 men against France (9 after you allow for Milner :D:()

I don't really get the Milner hate. I think he does well for England and its easy to scapegoat him because of the price he cost.

He did well for us this season but admittidly didn't play slot end of the season where we had to play our strongest possible XI so I hope he has a good tournament to give him more playing time.
 
Reckon England might snatch a draw or impossibly a win...happy to see Ox start even tho some of you armchair experts are saying it's not a wise decision lol.

No harm in giving him a shot, it's the only way he will get some experience under his belt. And he might just surprise some of you in here.
 
Ox isn't ready. I think it's a poor decision to start him, he should be eased in (i.e. not even at this tournament imo!)

That said, I'd rather roll the dice with Ox and maybe get a 7/10 performance than get a guaranteed 3/10 performance from Downing.
