VM 20 > 30 meg upgrade

The easiest way of checking what upload speed you have is through the modem page as we don't really know your area has been upgraded, it should be accessiable via http://192.168.100.1/

What you are looking for is called different things on different modems, but usually under Connection and Upstream. Something like Max Traffic Rate measured in bps. For 1MB I have: Max Traffic Rate 1111000 bps

edit... I only got to page 2 and it seems to be an ongoing thing by the time I got to the last page.

Just got upgraded from 20Mb to 30Mb and after a few problems with the new router everything is running perfectly. Expecting the upload to go from 1Mb to 3Mb in September :-)
 
Got mine all sorted out on Friday last week.
Really did not need an engineer to come out for the install, but they wouldn't just send me the superhub and let me activate over the phone so had to wait 17 days for the 'install'.

Anyways, speeds are much closer to what they should be then the 20Mb was.
Infact, although speedtest gives me a 30Mb connection, when I downloaded from the newsgroups I was getting just under 4000Kb/s, which I am happy with :)

Also, pings have dropped from ~28ms to ~18ms for me :D great improvement!
And Superhub has been fine so far too, no issues with stability or torrents or newsgroups.

Odd, was it a first time install or just an upgrade?
 


Better than 20mb here with regards to reaching the speed i'm on. - was only able to get 14mb max on 20mb.

Still awaiting the upload upgrade but thats not *that* important to how I use the net.

Just an upgrade from 20Mb to 30Mb.
Woman on t'other end of the phone when I ordered it was insistant that an engineer was required and when I asked why she said it was due to a new cable being required.

Was all total crap and the engineer just couldn't understand why he had been sent just to plug in a router, and nor could I seeing as plenty of other have just done theirs themselves.

Plus the new cable being needed was rubbish too.
Can only presume its an area specific thing if an engineer is needed or not :dunno:
