Watch Dogs - Ubisoft's Third Person Shooter

nerd rage

Indignant, hysterical, and incoherent screaming brought on by video game induced frustration.
Being griefed in UO for the 20th time that day, Ebert fell into an apoplectic nerd rage.

Lol.

I actually agree with Ubi in a way. I find the MOD does make the game harder to play and I find the effects a bit ott.

I imagine I'm the only one thinking this...:)
No you're not. I played for about two hours with them turned on, but have now switched them. I didn't have any performance problems (only improvements) and I didn't experience any stability problems.

The mod does make undeniably prettier screenshots, but IMO the game is more playable with them turned off. The shader effects obscure details which in turn affects the choices you make whilst playing the game. There are also some glitches; blinding bloom and plunging darkness which actually break the immersion.

No doubt the modders will fix these issues and balance the effects. I guess the real crime is that Ubi didn't take the time to do this.

"Watch Dogs" "E3 2012" mod can have damaging effect on gameplay, says Ubisoft
pcgamer.com"

LIES, LIES & more LIES,
Iv had the game from day one, its had lots of problems mostly to do with graphics & Ram usage.
1 week ago i started to use the E3 MOD & 90% of the problems was gone :D
I had a lag & crash free week, today i updated Watch Dogs with the provided Ubisoft patch that removes the E3 MOD,
Now the game LAGS again & looks like a PS3 game.

Ubisoft should let the modders fix the game they CBA to fix & stop ****ing us customers off.

But guys, can nobody READ?

Ubisoft said:
The dev team is completely dedicated to getting the most out of each platform....

It's the best our PCs can do! Why all the rage!

That statement is ridiculous. I hate Ubisoft for other reasons, but this is a new low...the features in the mod might impact performance, which was crap anyway for many. Anyway, I thought that was what graphics option were for?

Just started playing this tonight. Issue after issue.

First the latest Nvidia beta drivers do not work for me. Was getting strobe lighting from light sources and translucent textures on Aiden.

Improved when I went back to latest WHQL's.

However these have their own issues. Im getting awful texture flicker. For example I can see cars and stop signs where Aiden's jacket should be. Goes away after exit and re-enter of game, but eventually comes back.

Then also I seem to have like a ring of texture corruption around me as I move around or drive.

---

On top of this the game crashes with no error.

----

Im not touching this game untill they fix this crap.

Yeah, performance took a hit with these new drivers. Early adopters have always paid some price or another but ubisoft will need to impress me over the next few months to take any more money from me

Sounds like what I had when I first started playing the game, happened about half an hour into playing - the issue was Temporal SMAA for me, I knocked it down to SMAA and it went away (couldn't bump it up to MSAA 2x as the game is terribly optimised and my dual 780s at 1440p couldn't handle it properly without consistent frame drops ).

You might be right. I am using Temporal SMAA. I'll try knocking it down.

The games way too hard anyway. I'm still stuck literally on the first mission. I just cannot escape the police for long enough to reach my objective.

It can be tricky but for the cops let them get close behind and traffic light hack or bollard them. The last mission I had to knock down to easy though as the bloody helicopters are a nightmare and having to get out the car mid chase to hack the chopper makes for infuriating gameplay
