Watch Dogs - Ubisoft's Third Person Shooter

I get terrible fps on my R9 280. i5 2500k and 8GB RAM even on medium/high. I'm really glad I bought it on PS4 instead. Plus there is trophies that gives me more things to do in the game.

AMD cards are having big trouble with this game atm, that'll be your issue, that and your CPU might be a tad bit below par if it's running at stock clocks.

you need a better pc then ;) cause my neighbour has it on PS4, easy to compare the details, looks gash compared to Ultra settings

I have them both on the same screen and flicking between the two shows no real difference other than better AA on Pc.

My Pc is in a constant state of upgrade. I think a 4.6Ghz 4770k and 780 should be able to run this well at 1080p. The FPS jumps all over the place for me. I'm not one of the everything needs to be 60fps or die club but it fluctuates enough to be annoying and noticeable even for me.

If I run it at 1440p the arse just falls out the game completely.

Yup still can't get sweetfx to work with this game.

Honestly wish I never installed windows 8.1, offers nothing over w7 and has just caused me more problems in the end with worse performance in bf 4, sweetfx not working with all games and other little things :(

That's not entirely true, well not my experience anyway. Both my cards are being used at 90% and I'm getting solid 60fps on Ultra settings, every detail maxed out and Temporal SMAA. It dips to 50ish when I drive, but performance is now buttery smooth for me with visuals to boot, it's a truly stunning looking game at night and in the rain. Shame its just not the game we all hoped for.

What drivers? Did you have to upgrade to work with CrossFire?

using the 14.6 matey. Previously on the 14.4 set, Crossfire didn't seem to be working. Both my cards were stuck at around 51% on those. But on the 14.6 I'm now getting 90% out of them both and the scaling seems better. I still think the game is really badly optimized, should be getting more frames than I am currently, but I only have a 60hz panel so I lock them down to avoid tearing.

here is what my set up looks like to get it working: follow the guide posted earlier then:

make sure you apply after you do that, one setting points to the launcher ubi uses to launch the game, the other disables the page file. Also you have to turn off afterburner if you use it

Blame the developers for being lazy. PLus Bf4 runs much better in Windows 8 for me :p

Glad I never bought this now as a friend of mine is about to build a new PC with an nVidia card and said he'll give me the game as he's not interested.

Very disappointed. I've been buying games for the PS4 far more lately.

Think Titanfall was the last PC game I got before this. I might be tempted by Wolfenstein for PC, but that's about it.

I use a Titan to play little indie games.

It aint what it use to be is it.

Running 337.88 Beta, set the 'Texture' setting to medium in display with 'overall quality' to High running smoothly, Ultra is not bad but a bit slow for my liking, seems to suffer the same problem GTA4 had with the main texture setting causing big FPS drops but its not nearly as bad as that lol

and AA is set to FXAA

EDIT: Just tested it using Nvidia's optimal settings and I get about 40 - 50 FPS with drops down to 30 when more is happening on screen, its playable but I like games to run around 60 FPS

AA=SMAA
Tex=HIgh
Detail=Ultra
Reflections=Ultra
Shadows=Ultra
Ambiant=HBAO+ High

Rest=High

running 7950 on ultra textures, bout 30-40 fps, looks fine to me.

Yeah my 7950 is doing ok as well, ultra textures(or whatever the top one is, high I think), with most things on high, and Motion blur and dof off as I hate them. I get between 50-60 in most areas outside of car chases tbh. I like to walk around town in this, and it never goes below about 50 when on foot.
