Watch Dogs - Ubisoft's Third Person Shooter

I don't see why people feel the need to have all there games on steam these days. Generally find most games can be had much cheaper elsewhere

because i use steam wallet to buy games. i just buy a steam wallet code from game, when i see a game i want.

no teverybody have credit cards, i don't myself

Getting terrible results with my 780ti SC. Max settings 2x TXAA and I am getting frames dropping down to 5 in some areas. I am also getting a lot of objects showing through other things. A lot of road markings, fences and leaves on the ground show through everything and has made the game virtually unplayable.

Here is what I mean

I had this issue after a fresh install of windows, i turned smaa something to just smaa and it was gone :)

I am enjoying it more now. The gunplay is quite good I think.

Also, I managed to get it running at a constant 60fps with no slow downs or stutter (gpu usage is nice and low as well meaning low heat and no noise)

2x 670 sli - All ultra except textures and shadows, 1080p with FXAA. Looks good and runs silky smooth at a capped 60fps, never seen it drop yet since going from 4xMSAA to FXAA.

The only remaining issue is water reflections, for some reason as you move the camera the reflections appear and disappear as you look up and down the water. It looks stupid and I don't know what is causing it. I think it must be a bug. Does anyone else get this?

Smaa normal looks a lot better than fxaa. None of the blur and hardly any fps hit. Also NVIDIA say enable af (not standard the one below it) in control panel as it sharpens textures. With said settings I've got it looking quite nice. Also for 780 sli I put max rendered frames to 5 and vsync to 2 and the stutter is gone. Finally ready to play the game after a full days tinkering now

Playing at 30fps or 60 on a 120hz?

I'm on a 1400p dell. With adaptive vsync enabled in control panel as well it kind of cancels out vsync in the program so I have no input lag but fixes the stutter 100 percent. By stutter I mean that rubber banding type thing every 20 or so seconds. Sorry if that sounds convoluted.

V sync 2 in game not limiting you to 30fps though? I've never had nvidia cards so don't know much about adaptive v sync.

No because what I mean is they both cancel each other out meaning vsync isn't working but the stutters gone. Its quite bizzare really but its worked for me so happy to share

The graphics are so hit and miss. Sometimes it looks absolutely stunning and then other times you think you are back on a PS3 or something. Its weird.

Here's some shots from tonight's playing time:

Just had to do one of those missions where you have to tail someone without being spotted and if you are you have to start again. Gave me nightmares of assassins creed all over again. I know they copy and paste a lot between there games but did they really have to include that lol.

Those screenshots make this game look like the stunning game we would be getting at E3, just such a shame is so unoptimized and full of bugs, hopefully theres patches to fix it because this does have the potential to become great just too much holding it back.

Hopefully this isn't a sign of thing to come for The Division, as that's the next game that looks amazing coming from ubisoft that i'm really looking forward too.

Reminded me of GTA as well.

Nighttime and/or rain = good graphics
Day time in the sun = bad graphics.

Trees, grass etc look really naff when it's day time and sunny.

It seems so odd that the reflections in puddles and the rain and water look really quite good, and yet the reflections in the windows of buildings are a flat texture re-used everywhere
