Watch Dogs - Ubisoft's Third Person Shooter

your driving with a keyboard, you have no finesse its always gonna be full lock, full accel full brake with nothin in between

Get a controller, usin an xbox pad myself and the driving is fine.

My main issue is DRIVING, if you can call it that. It seems I can only drive using the keyboard, mouse has absolutely no effect. To steer left and right, I have to use the A&D keys. And therein lies my problem. Evenly gently touching the keys, I'm veering all over the place.

Gently pressing the keys? Are you new to PC gaming by any chance? We have to press "shift" to walk in games for a reason unlike on a pad you can just move it slightly. Same with all other games like it gta/sr etc.

I don't even know why I replied as I am sure you are just trolling with the "gently touching keys".

Cheers for the quick response.:)

So I can plug in my xbox controller and just use that for the driving sequences. As I prefer K&M for general playing. Just wondering, as some games don't allow you to have both connected at the same time.

Yep, Xbox pad for driving and M&K for on foot is how I am playing. The game seamlessly switches all the prompts between the two based on what you last pressed too.

I do the same, much easier, although the cars have x2 settings, dead stop or full mental.

I hope the person who designed the driving physics gets sacked. Must have been the same person who designed the sailing in AC4.

NO, not new or trolling.

I don't play games like GTA or SR. And the vast majority of games I play, the "shift" key is for running.:p
The games I have played, that have had a driving sequence in, just required light subtle touches of the A&D keys to go left and right, when driving at speed.

But hey, if you feel it is beneath you to offer friendly advice without being condescending and assume people are trolling, just because they hav'nt played similar games before.

Thanks guys. Will give that a go.

@Witcher1979, see how easy it is to be nice and helpful, pretty painless as well.:D

What kind of frame rate you getting? I've got 2 7950s but found it's much smoother using 1. Have not tried the page file trick though ...
Not sure i'll install fraps or whatever peeps are using and let you know, I'm also on a fresh windows install and 14.6 drivers qith an i5 3570k @4.4

It's so strange to me that people are struggling with this game?

It's been nothing but seamless from installation for me. All I've done is dial back my 7950 overclock a touch for stability and set everything up via autodetect.

I'll bite.

The point Witcher's making is that the keys on a PC keyboard are digital; binary. They're either being pressed, or not being pressed. Your use of the word "gentle" implies that only pushing the key halfway down will somehow affect the input. It's nothing to do with the intensity of the keypress, but how long the keypress is.

For any game with an emphasis on precise character control, a controller is the ideal solution for this reason; the sticks are analog. Modifier keys on a keyboard are good but offer a lesser degree of control still.

Is this anything like Deus Es:HR?

Its more of a mix of GTA 4 and Splinter Cell Blacklist, you have the openworld of GTA but the 'crouch behind cover' and combat mechanic of Splinter Cell. Obviously the game focuses on "hacking" but this is more of a type of weapon to use against enemies with a simple touch of a button. You dont really 'hack' in the same way you do in DX:HR. You do have the ability to 'hack' things like cameras etc.

The game tries to be a unique experience and in some ways it is but it can also feel a lot like other Ubisoft games where gameplay has been borrowed. Imagine Assassins Creed in a Sci-Fi city but without all the climbing and jumping over rooftops. Instead you are a vigilante armed with a hacking mobile phone trying to blend in, hence the similarity of being stealthy whilst avoiding the cops with guns instead of soldiers with swords.

Ok cheers! Probably not for me then, I dont like Assain Creed. I wish Deus Ex:HR would get a sequel or something :(

Anyone having problems logging into Uplay? It keeps saying my password or email is incorrect. I've already reset my password twice but it still won't let me log in!
