Ways to save money using a VPN?

Another VPN use for cheaper subs is F1TV. It's around €70 if you use a VPN and subscribe in a European country where it's available.

Yet subscribing in Mexico it's $44 USD equivalent. The difficulty is finding a Mexican method of payment, but some get around this by using google pay.

For UK subs like Netflix, Apple, Prime etc.., there's always Plutus card which is something I mentioned in another thread. You get the price of sub back up to £10, but the big catch is that it's paid in some obscure crypto that you can't withdraw for 45 days.

I really liked Tidal when I used it, but it didn't seem to work with Google Assistant (for hands free requesting of songs in the car). Does it still not play nicely with GA today?

I signed up for the tidal offer via turkey but yes google assistant is crap with it. It will play individual songs ok via assistant but it doesnt work for playlists or albums

VPN works for saving money on airline tickets, getting the best price on car rental or even hotel room reservations. I often found hotel deals that costed much less from one location to another, and have saved a considerable few hundred dollars over the last couple of years using this technique I discovered through the article https://bigpricedrops.com/how-to-save-money-with-a-vpn-5-ways/ . Being smart you can save a furtune.

That method is what I used for Netflix for ages - stopped working probably a month or so ago. If I try play anything not in Turkey I get this....VPN to Turkey and everything works.

My firewall sends stuff out via VPN to specific countries depending on the IP of the device. I'd do that if I only watched Netflix at home! I also toyed with using stuff like Tailscale (which I use for other things anyway tbh) but then I figured it's getting way too complex to save a fiver or so so my daughter can watch endless re-runs of Friends.

I just signed up for Netflix via VPNing to Turkey - seems to be working fine now I've disconnected from the VPN!

Is it a new requirement to have to provide a phone number to set up a new account? I was required to obtain a Turkish phone number for SMS verification - I used https://sms-activate.org/ for this purpose, I paid £1.05 via virtual card on Revolut for a 82.72 rubles balance on the account, then paid 28.80 rubles to get a Turkish number to use for activation purposes.

First month of Netflix via VPN in Turkey has cost me £5.41 - lets see if it lasts!

The netflix Turkey thing just recently got easier because netflix changed their sign up pages. You used to have to let a lapsed UK account with a valid bank card lapse (run out), and then resubscribe via Turkey using say a gift card and then wait for that month to lapse then it would fall back to the backup UK card. However...
Recently (I think it is fixed now?) you could simply sign up using a VPN to Turkey and instantly set it to use a UK bank card with no issues and it will go on working. The only limitation is that it gets geo locked to Turkey for the first month.

(sorry if someone said all this already I've only skim read the thread)

I've used vpn signups over the years for all our streaming platforms with the exception of prime, because obviously I need the UK postman to delivery letter to my address. [sic] ;)
