That's what makes it so annoying. The Liverpool game the ref was very poor but there was no question that we deserved to lose, a shocking performance. But today I thought we were marginally on top (although a draw was fair) and there was a damn good performance put in by the team, yet we've come away with nothing because of the ref making 3 mistakes in about 20 seconds and giving them a goal :(
 
My take on the game is that both midfields were doing a fine job of cancelling each other out. Lampard & Deco good for Chelsea, Ando & Fletch good for us. Carrick and Ballack were on the periphery and really didn't have an impact on the game. A lot of pot shots from outside the box meant it was going to take a mistake to settle it.

Anelka played well as did Rooney.

Ref imho was poor with a lot of the 50/50 or even blatant challenges going to Chelsea.

Not seen a replay of the freekick incident so I can't say if it was or wasn't a foul although he did look to play the ball.

Nothing from this game makes has got me changing my mind that Chelsea are nailed on favourites for the Premiership.

From our point of view the midfield is still a big worry for me. Not enough spark in the team. Obertan looks to have some nice touches about him. We missed some pace and aggression in the side today

Man of the Match, I would say Anelka just shades it

Bit harsh on Valencia imo - thought he was very good also, but more likely than not Rooney was feeding him from midfield and so no one was in the box so Valencia needed to hold back rather than unleashing a cross (allwoing defence to catch up)

TBH I feel sorry for Rooney, he tries his all but without the quality of a Ronaldo type playing him in then he's wasted, such a great talent is Wayne. Can we wrap him up in cotton wool until the World Cup please? :)

Though I must admit that winger you brought on as a sub looks promising. I didn't catch his name.

Obi Wan?

He's bloody quick, I think he's looking quite good, massive 'ead like.

I'm still waiting for Tosic to get a first team chance, Obertan looks like he can develope into a good winger.

Didn't do much other then skin the RB, but he wasn't on too long.

laughs - personally think he looks very promising indeed, he is just recovering from a back injury but when he is fullly fit he should be great

Not sure about Tosic, for whatever reason I dont think he is going to make it , he has been at Utd since Jan and not really progressed that much, CC/ maybe FA Cup player this season at most I think

Fair point, I think he stuck to his defensive duties well. Maybe too well as it stifled his creative play.

I think Obi Wan is looking good, he's quick and clearly has good feet. He's linked up well in the Carling Cup and I thought he was a bright light in a fairly dull game.

I also think Tosic looked fairly good, I'd like to see him given a shot at the first team, but if Fergie doesn't think he's ready, People should trust Fergie's judgement.

I know what you mean - but compared to the Liverpool game Utd as a team played brilliantly (and at the least deserved a draw - not that it counts for squat lol)

I may possibly be confusing Gerrard's injury with Torres' but I think he'll be out longer than that. He might be needing an op.
