16k home fans Football is not that supported in Wigan, too many people supporting other clubs in the town, utajoker is from Wigan supports Man United and a few others off here from town do. Plus how can you call Wigans support when Fulham only bring 280,

What so they can only go to certain games? So they are plastic fans then, 300 is a disgrace, the borough has 172k and only 300 bothered driving up the M6.

I was born in Wigan, it's a pure rugby town. Up until a couple of years ago they probably had about 1k footy fans lol!

To be fair, it's not a huge town but can lay claim to hosting a world class rugby team, infact the worlds best, on a few occasions.

We don't seem to take many anymore, as Fulham stopped offering the free coach rides (afaik). Plus it's based a lot on a more 'family' club, so a lot of our fans won't go as it'll be families that won't travel. I can't afford my season ticket and away travel/tickets, so... :p Not only that, all the fans from Fulham support Chelsea..soo :/. Also quite a distance to travel on a Sunday night! The main lot of our away fans (mostly the older lot), went to Rome which cost them £5-600+, so doubt many could afford/be bothered for Wigan (no offence :p). We don't even sell out at home, everyone seems to support Chelsea now!

hey, i support wigan aswell.

wigan is a rugby town, its the main reason the footy team aint as well supported.

if i had money i would go to the wigan games.
 
Didn't see the match but saw the highlights.

I think a draw would have been a fairer result, but that's what happens when you don't take your chances. Chelsea were lucky with the free kick but we should have cleared it really, we know Terry is good in the air so there's no excuse.

5 points behind then. Here's hoping for a Chelsea blip in form.

Redknapp does exactly the same as do most of the Prem referee's, Fergie is highlighted because he moaned about the ref a couple of weeks ago (which he was warned about his conduct) Which kind of ****'s on your last point.

He won't be shouted down by anyone, we all like a good debate and a bit of banter in here, again, you would know that if you ever posted.

You're making out the SA is populated by United fans ready to rip into anyone that doesn't agree with us, when in reality it is very different.

People ripped into you because you wandered in like Chelsea's biggest fan giving it the big 'un when in reality no one had ever seen you before!

I hope you stay around, be interesting next time Chelsea have a dodgy result if we see you again :)
 
well you cant say fergie hasnt taken a great team and made it mediocre.

its not that we lost ti liverpool, nor that we drew with moscow, or that we also lost to chelsea.

its that at no point did we ever look like winning any of the above matches.

most of our results are coming from a fight back. what happened to the days when people used to fear us and we just 'won' convincingly without having to drag ourselves back from the brink?
