What did you do to your bike today?

Sorry to hear about the troubles you've had with your ktm duke IC3, I traded my Honda cbr125 in for a ktm duke 125 5 weeks ago and it's been perfect, Mine is a 2012 model, 4k miles in black and grey, love it. :)

My stator burned after 2-3 months, well anyway I'm going to see a car today which I'll most likely end up buying. The duke is going on sale as soon as I get it back, now the mechanic has kept the bike for 2 weeks and is delaying it even more... he's ****** me off.

Next bike will be either: MT-07, SV650SA or Ninja 300. Those bike differ from each other, but MT-07 is my current favourite out of the bunch. £££'s tho... :( No more KTM's tho...

I do like the MT-07, will you be on your A2 License? What's the power limit for that? Will you have to restrict the MT-07 or wait until you have your Full A License?

Can you recommend any paddock stands for the Duke? Did you get some?

35Kw/47bhp and it can't be more than double the bhp once unrestricted.

That's exactly the place (café?) that me and my friend stop at i think :p we take the path into the town bit and grab some chips.

Yep Blue Sky Cafe, almost always bikers there if the sun is out.

Next time you are in the area let me know, I have a contact for very good fish and chips ;) :D

Yeah, Yamaha restrict the bike for free and at the moment I'm trying to decide what to do. My options are...

1) Buy new MT07 ABS
2) Ninja 300 ABS 2nd hand
3) ER6-F ABS

I want a bike that I can practise becoming faster around corners, the duke is limiting me as I scrape with my boots/pegs. I could take the Ninja 300 on a track, restricted bikes such as MT-07 (35kW) are banned... :(

About the stand, I believe dukes can be put onto a motocross/enduro stand. But it'll have to be one of those adjustable ones...

correct.

sounds like you've just answered your questsion ;)

ninja

not bias at all lol

But it's slow, the MT-07 even whilst restricted has more torque and is generally faster. I also like to take the bike for a longer spin, the ninja doesn't seem like a good bike for a longer journey... :(

How old are you now? 19? If you do your A2 now, can you still progress to an A license after 2 years or have you got to wait until you are 24+?

trade it in for a Japanese 125 and ride that till you can do your big bike license?

get an old banger car aswell for wintertime?

the 300 ninjas are overpriced imo you can get a second hand 600 for same or less money trouble is is all the restriction crap

With 2 years experience on A2 you can opt to take the tests (Mod 1 + 2) again for a full license. More expensive but I'm a larger bloke and on my commute a 125 simply won't cut the mustard, tossing between either a ER-6F or SV650 myself.

Saw this on a Daytona on Friday.

Are people getting that lazy that they would rather press a button than use their foot?

I have a friend that lost part of his leg's mobility and he uses a device like that to keep riding.

When are you doing your A2 licence IC3?

A Honda CB400 superfour that I know of might be coming up for sale around October time... :)

Not even 19 hah, next year... Yeah you can do full A license after 2 years from when you do your A2 or 24+ without any additional categories.

Nah, I can barely survive a year on a 125, couple years would be a joke. I don't know how some people can ride a 125 for 6-7 years. More power makes life easier, no need to change the gears as often, you can actually overtake, helps whilst filtering through slow moving traffic on narrower road.

The car I was going to see today got sold, the ninja 300 is expensive I agree. If not the stupid law, I would have got a GSXR 750 K7 or K8-K10, probably not the best idea tho hahaha :D

47bhp should be enough for some time, probably won't bore me as quickly as a 125.

Yours? :p

Why did they have to put those stupid rules into practise, just raise the insurance premium like car insurance. I can ride any car at my age, even a lambo. But I can't ride a parrel twin 700cc with 74bhp, F logic. :o

Because you go splat on a bike when you hit something,in a car u shrug your shoulders and get out

But it is a bit ott all the rules and regulations, what's wrong with a 125 for few years? Plenty power and why do you need to overtake everything? Do that when you filter

It's because you can't afford a Lamborghini while anyone can afford a super sports bike so you get a lot more problems with high powered bikes.

That's what I'm thinking as well, 47 will do me nicely until I do full A 2 years on from passing A2 and at some point I'd unrestrict it and do with whichever bike I end up with for another 3+ years. Only reason I'm not thinking about 300s is I don't want to invest in something that I haven't got to restrict only to be completely upset with it a few months down the line.
