What did you do to your bike today?

Got my new tyre fitted today.
Having ran Conti-Motions for the past 4 years, couldn't really fault them.
never a slip or slide what ever the weather.
but decided to try the continental ContiRoadAttack 2 EVO, as their duel compound so should wear better in the centre.

I fitted a luggage rack to my husky today. The 701 has no official way of attaching stuff to the back, but a guy fabricates his own racks. He only produces them in small batches, so I snapped one up recently.

I had to drill the fairings, so was a bit nervous, but it all ended up ok :D

That, is a really cool bike.

Speedo stopped working on the way to work this morning. Looking it up there's a 3 pin connector on the right hand side of the frame that relays the signals from the sensor. Hoping that this is a bit dirty so it's just a point of using WD40 to clean it out....instead of having to swap out the sensor

Yeah, I got out dragged by a 125 the other day ;p

It's a needs a valve service which is about £500, new brake pads and want to maybe get it painted and fit a Brembo 19RCS, get the exhaust shortened and a few other bits :D

Maybe you got on the RS125 :p

Nice, pretty much everything I need to get done also, though the Valve check is a priority...

Rode home at lunch and the bike started losing power... As the speedo is not working I throught it must be eletrical. I turned off the lights to see if that makes a difference and the power is back...and the speedo! Turn lights back on again and everything is still fine.

Happy that it's all working again but now I'm worried I have more of an issue somewhere. Loss of readings on the instrument pannel seems to point a bad earth looking at some CBR forum posts.....sigh

Rectifier

+ 1 for the checking the rectifier try and get a volt meter across the battery see what its putting out

Had the rectifier go on the fireblade and it cooked the battery

Looks Like it's a replacement already. I did find the reg rec earth all cacked up so I cleaned that and the speedo link connection as that was slightly corroded. Hasn't been a problem so far.

In other news I rubbed down the forks...but sadly found the disks are too close to the forks so the wheel will have to come off before painting

Edit: I've given up trying to find replacement panels for the bike as the color scheme is just too scarce. I'm going to use the panels I have and some filler and then re-spray her. Since I've already had a black bike I'm going for something different. She is going to be satin red with black details. The forks, frame and swingarm are going to be black

Rode to Stratford to return my alloy indicators today :(

Loved them, such good quality, but they don't fit with the R&G tail tidy and I want same on front and rear. Got them for such a good price as well, £98 for 2 pairs. Normally £120.

Can anyone recommend some smaller LED indicators that are well made? Not sure I want to spend on Rizomas as they probably wouldn't fit on whatever bike I get next.

Ordered a Kriega US30 and an US10 to go with my US10... so now I have the US50 combo :)

Thanks to tom_e voucher code that save me £15 :)

Before buying new, I was bidding in some on the bay, but all of them went to almost the same price as the new ones, I don't get some people... A US30 used one went for £86 with delivery.. I paid £90 new delivered..

Yeah used kriega gear goes for mental money on the bay, I got my R11 for a decent price but probably only because it's no longer sold so people weren't looking for it.

A friend helped me swap out the brake seals in the front calipers.

I thought the brakes might not be the best but discovering one of the pistons had seized explained it!...They were still better than the brakes on the SV even in this condition though!

Sadly I'll be taking it all apart again though as all pistons have been badly man handled by prev owner. New pistons, seals (again) and pads on their way.

Also managed to find a piece of fairing in the right color scheme!!! Not only that somehow managed to get it for £24 :D

Had my R6 put back to her standard height. The guy i bought it off before was vertically challenged so switched out the dog bones. Wanted it put to it's normal height before i get the suspension sorted out for myself.

It may be a placebo but it felt like it was much more responsive and around corners it just wanted to lean in. Probably a placebo though

No you're not imagining it a bike will always handle better when the geometry hasn't been messed with lowering or raising them is usually a trade off between being able to fit but losing some handling.

I bought a set of lowering dog bones got mine but never bothered fitting them for exactly that reason, luckily I can just about tip toe the bike as standard :D

Couldn't sit on a R6, was he a midget?
