What film did you watch last night?

Watched The fantastic Mr Fox with my little boy, it was ok.

I was expecting animation in the style of say Toy story or Cars but its almost puppet like....and im not sure if that made it better or worse.

my son fell asleep on my knee when watching it, so i suspect his opinion is different to mine :-)

Sherlock Holmes 5/10

I think they were trying to please too many people. The story was a bit rubbish, about half way through I nearly turned it off but it picked up again towards the end. Some great action sequences and some cool camera work in parts, but not enough to make up for the weak story. They could have thrown either a bit more comedy in or made it a bit more serious, one or the other.
Maybe it was cos I was tired when watching but, meh, 5/10

The Hangover

"I didn't know they gave out rings at the holocaust!" :D

Funny film.
On a critical note, didn't think much of it as a blu-ray release though, mind you I did watch Wall-E just before it which is pure eye candy.

Just watched Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Really good. Old films are just so much better when you look at them. So many good actors and it shows you don't need a ton of action and special effects to make something super good. That scene that happens in that woman's house when the kid goes away was scary tho!

The Time Traveller's Wife.

Very rarely are love stories done right but this really hit the mark for me. The whole film has this undercurrent of tragedy as well which is excellent as I love tragic films the most, especially love ones.

Saw Lost in Translation for the first time yesterday. Thoroughly enjoyed it and thought Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson were pretty good together and played the parts well. Film left me in a good mood and i'll definitely watch it again in the future :)

edit: will be watching Fargo for the first time tonight so i'll report back tomorrow :p
