What film did you watch last night?

2012

Terrible. There are a couple of decent action scenes but it just goes so ridiculously over the top with the nail biting "oh I only just made it" moments. The family survive no less than about 30 miraculous last second escapes... cheesy doesn't even come close.

2/10

Watched riding giants on dvd. Documenary about big wave surfing. Starts with the early pioneers in hawaii, moving onto california. Great archive footage of the early pioneers of the sport along with interviews. Not a surfer myself but it was a great watch. Some of the waves theese guys are surfing are absolutely terrifying to look at.

9/10

Watched Invictus a few hours ago at the Cardiff cinema, quite a good story! Would recommend this to anyone.

Quite moving too, and I ain't one for all that stuff.

The curious case of benjamin button.

A very enjoyable film, didn't feel like it was dragging but also didn't think it was any particularly special.

Would recommend it though

Seen a few films this week....

The Book Of Eli - 2/10
Wow, one of the worst films I've seen at the cinema. Considering I saw The Spirit, Max Payne and Ghost Rider at the cinema its in pretty bad company. No redeeming features whatsoever, crap story crap cg crap script crap music. Denzel and the 1 or 2 minutes of action in the film manage to make it to 2/10.

The Road - 8/10
What Eli should have been. Bleak and slow and dreary, but without make me rage like Eli. could have done with a smidge more confrontation imo but overall a great flick.

2012 - 6.5/10
Wow much better than I thought. If you turn off your brain a bit and just indulge yourself in the scale of **** hitting the fan its great. Hilariously cliched characters though. Worth a rent.

Fish Tank.

Well worth a watch, i really enjoyed it. i hope the lead girl gets some more work as she did a great job to say she was just plucked off the street for the part without an acting classes etc.

the old series or the new film?

The old series yes that was classic, the new film is shockingly bad.

I've seen both (although the books supersede both). I was referring to the film. It's like the Red Dwarf: Back to Earth trilogy. A great, well made evolution of an existing franchise that for some reason everybody but me hates. Lets be honest here, how can you not like this?

Watched Michael Collins. :/

Was very well made, but you can tell it was made to appeal to american markets.

I saw that a while ago, think i've got it on DVD somewhere. I thought it was great, although not knowing much about it beforehand i can't really say.

Seen this a few times, not too bad. Though wind that shakes the barley was a better film, it does have ken loache's slightly biased view, but the story off the two brothers in the film is good watching. Actually reminded me off one of the best films ive ever seen, brotherhood, a korean film about the war over there.

Training Day

Meh, not as good as the first time I saw it. I feel that Hawke played his role pretty well though.

Also:

For a Few Dollars More

*hums tune* :D

Love those films, even bought the soundtrack for the good the bad and the ugly, morricone is a fantasic composer, ecstasy of gold is one of the best peces of music ive ever heard.

Watched a film called "The Firm" last night http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1313113/

It was ok, some quite gritty scene's but nothing shocking, some harsh language but nothing that you havent heard before.

I belive its a remake too, i hadnt seen the original but it may be worth watching it to do a comparison.

5/10

Oh and watched the Road on saturday night too.....awful dreary film, such a shame because i enjoyed the book.
