What film did you watch last night?

Watched a film called "The Firm" last night http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1313113/

It was ok, some quite gritty scene's but nothing shocking, some harsh language but nothing that you havent heard before.

I belive its a remake too, i hadnt seen the original but it may be worth watching it to do a comparison.

5/10

Ahh man, you had me all excited there for a minute that it was a remake of John Grisham's The Firm, but it's a football movie. :( The original 'The Firm' (1993) is a great movie based on the book!

Disturbia - Above average update on Rear Window (above avaerage meaning above average on remakes/updates, it is not a patch on the original - saw that a few months back and it was much more enjoyable).

Anyway, a good enough film. 3/5

Spoiler:-

What is it with David Morse, how many times has he played a character who may or may not be a real bad guy only to turn out that he is in fact a real bad guy. I think he is a superb actor and like him a lot in his good guy roles, ST Elsewhere, Green Mile etc. But why does he have to do so many is he isn't he a baddie roles? Different casting in this film would have made it a bit more of a guessing game. As soon as you see David Morse you know he is a serial killer.

End Spoiler.

RockNRolla.

7/10

Typical Guy Richie film, not as good as Lock Stock or Snatch, but still funny and pretty good.

Valkyrie on Saturday night,

8/10

Germans with American accents is the only let down, good story, well executed (pardon the pun) but not a touch on Downfall for WW2 German war film..

Twilight.

Jesus Horatio Christ. I'm going to avoid being a fanboy or being Anti-Twilight-Cause-Its-For-Gays as who really needs that?

It was... really poorly put together. I've never read the books but even I could see where the story had been cut to shreds to squeeze it into a feature length. They're playing a baseball game, and then some dude comes over who is supposedly a Hunter of Epic Woe. So then they all run away because this hunter wont let her live and will be really hard to evade... and the whole "drop everything you love and run for your life" scene lasted 5 minutes, and the Impossible Dude was disposed of.. well, quite easily.

Shoddy.

Resurrecting the champ - Started to watch this low expectations, turned out to be quite a reasonable film, for such a high budget and with Samuel L Jackson i'm quite shocked i had not heard of it before now.

Watched the Lovely Bones...very good movie...quite enjoyed it but was a bit long-ish.

But definitely a good movie.

Sexy Beast. Arguably the most boring British gangster movie ever made. Halfway through I couldn't care less what was going on; I just wanted the whole thing to be over.

Jackie Brown and Star Trek, enjoyed them both as much as I did when I first saw them to be honest.

Really starting to enjoy the new Star Trek film.

Just watched Up for the first time.

The first montage is a masterclass in its truest sense. The emotion invoked just kept bringing tears to my eyes throughout the test of the movie. The whole film is startlingly , astonishingly and breathtakingly magnificent

Bravo Pixar

Surrogates

Weak story with some sloppy writing.

But, the action scenes were awesome. Direction and style was all very creative and felt very fresh. From that perspective it was all executed on cue, Willis did his best as usual.

So, shame about the script, it was only 80 mins long; they should have found another 40 mins of material to give it more weight.

Enjoyable flick, don't buy it, rent.

Brewsters millions.

Richard prior did some fantastic stuff in the 80's, added bonus with comic genius John candy in tow.

A film for me that never grows old. Not seen it? make a point of doing so:)
