What film did you watch last night?

Post Apocalyptic scorched earths I'd imagine have a tendency to fit that description.

They got what they aimed for then.

TBH I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was, and certainly frightened the crap out of me in some scenes, took me quite a while to get to sleep as I could still hear the screams in my head :D.

I saw Sherlock Holmes last Wednesday and thought it was rubbish - didn't feel like a Guy Ritchie film at all.

Last night I watched Thank You For Smoking and thought it was brilliant. Very cynical and funny. :)

Harry Brown

Did I like it? Did I not like it?

I'm not sure, it wasn't impressive and I can't say Caine was overwhelmingly good. The story felt off and I think it lacked direction and style. Bit of a downer really...

The Informant

Damon was, as always in these roles, effortless. Quirky film that had me laughing a couple of times. I've read critic and user reviews that shoot this down for being "all about nothing" but it kept me watching. Quality stuff.

I watched Smokin' Aces 2 - Assassins ball last night, and to be perfectly blunt it was gash.

Not a patch on the first one, and the first one wasnt that great either. (i should mention that these movies are unrelated in the storyline, other than a couple of small mentions of Buddy israel etc)

It was kind of like The Tournament, but with less cool characters, a more pointless storyline and worse special effects.

that said it was a bit of mindless entertainment and it did the job, but i do feel that i have wasted about 90 minutes of my time.

Sin Nombre - A gripping, brutal film and a fascinating look at immigration and gang violence. Put up with the subtitles, you will enjoy it.

Watched Shake Hands with the Devil last night. An excellent rendition of Lieutenant-General Roméo Dallaire's book, which I read several years ago. If you haven't seen the movie, read the book first. It is unbelievably horrific. The movie is quite tame by comparison.

Watched The Descent tonight. Pleasantly surprised! A remarkably good movie.

I love that film, the way it made you 'feel' the claustrophobia of the tunnels and caves was really well done. The book is far, far better though, written by Jeff Long it's got to be in my top 20 favourite books of all time. I highly recommend it.

Stumbled across "Idiocracy" on Film 4 late last night :D

Another example of a film so utterly bad, you cant take your eyes off it!!! :p
