What film did you watch last night?

Ender's Game - wasn't as bad I as I was expecting! Hadn't read any of the books or anything, my kids quite liked it but Harry Potter meets Star Wars (as it was sold in the trailer) it is not. 3/5

300 part 2

Not a bad film, 7/10, got sick of all the slow mo's and the horse running through the ship was silly for me.

But Eva Green is such a hotty.

I watched The Raid 2... It was utterly fantastic. The fight scenes were great, it was brutal and the story was pretty good. Actually better than the first one as maybe the same fighting guys in bleak hallways and horrible rooms got a bit samey. This one is quality and the, I will say BOSS (Or maybe Underboss) Scenes were my favourite.

9.5/10

Something didn't gel with me, the story didn't keep my interest. I just saw it as a number of set pieces but they were excellent set pieces.

7/10

The Hunger Games.
It was on TV, not a film that's appealed to me before, but never really looked into it either.
Turned out to be quite a good film, and now I've been told there's a second one so will need to catch that at some point.

Saw it too on TV.

Everyone kept going on about how it's just ripping off Battle Royale (and I know the author did state that BR did influence it somewhat), but it was still pretty different beyond kids killing each-other.

Enjoyable enough for sure, 6/10.

Getaway with Ethan Hawke and Selina Gomez.

Terrible story but stunts were impressive based on no CGI, amusing watching a Shelby Super Snake being caught by police Astra pandas.

4/10 only watched it to the end as I paid for it on BT Box office and didnt want to waste my £3.50.

Cold comes the night 5/10

Really odd film, it's not really an interesting premise as nothing much happens. Cranston has an odd 'Polish' accent.

I wouldn't say I feel I wasted 80 minutes, but it was pretty forgettable.

Insidious Chapter 2

Watched this last night on my own in a dark room. It scared the crap out of me more than once. Follows on directly from the first film. A must see if you're a fan of the genre.

Good to know might watch it tonight.

Robocop (2014) 8/10
Some very cool effects i.e. when the robotic parts of the body are taken away and you see what's left but the film left me disappointed through lack of action and a poor ending. It's rated a 12 and I reckon a 12 year old would have enjoyed it more. They should have made it with an 18+ audience in mind. I feel the same way about the batman films. I guess I crave some hard hitting action, blood, violence and lots of gore!
