What film did you watch last night?

Edge of Tomorrow - 9/10

Good action/sci-fi movie, some funny bits (quite a lot a Cruise's expense), yeah there are the usual 'Time Travel Plot Holes' but all in all a Very good movie! :)

Grand Budapest Hotel and 13 Sins.

Budapest was as artfully cinematic as you'd expect from a Wes Anderson movie and the cast were on top form as you'd expect from the near all star cast (Life Aquatic fans will be familiar with what to expect). The comedy parts were really brilliant and the way the whole thing moved along just felt right. Definitely one of the more favoured films of the year for me and worth 9/10. I understand some people thought it was boring and didn't make sense. Those people probably enjoy Michael Bay movies more :p

13 Sins was quite different (in a good way). I didn't expect there to be gore but there was and it was nice to see a few familiar faces from some of my favourite TV shows from over the years.
I'd give it a decent 7/10, it's not masterpiece cinema but is still enjoyable to watch and keeps you wanting to see what the other challenges are.

The Monuments Men – A rather disjointed attempt at a very interesting story. Dire script lurching from scene to scene. The good actors didn’t give it any weight. A shame to see such a good opportunity wasted. 4/10

22 Jump Street

I thought it was very good, and id say that it was better than the first.

As Ianh explained above, there is one standout scene where the cinema was in stitches for at least a minute, but there was also plenty of laughs to be had throughout.

8/10

Edge of Tomorrow 8.5/10

Really enjoyed it. Funny in parts, good scifi action and not to much kissing... great!!

I liked the look of the baddies... very Matrix 2

A million Ways to die in the West.

It's actually quite funny, some of the jokes are a little out there and not politically correct that makes you cringe a LOT of times but it did make me laugh. Plenty of cameos from a lot of people (the one in the shed near the end made me to WTF!).

p.s. Charlize Theron does not look almost 40 !

7/10

This is strange, feels like it's been many many decades seeing her in films. To think she was 21 in The Devils Advocate. Or maybe even 18 or 19 as they're usually 2 - 3 years behind the film release back in the 90s.

Olympus has fallen... God save America

I think we should take America back & make it a "colony again"

5/10

No no no. We Brits should embrace the 4th July and be grateful America got it's independence from us. They call a game where you carry the ball 99% of the time football ffs.

Delivery Man

Please don't watch this. It's terrible, and not in a so-bad-it's-good way.

Usually Vince is funny from these type of films. Wedding Crashers, The Break-Up… Has his comedy died?

I haven't seen The Internship either. Must be funny since Vince and Owen are together again…

Then again…

3/10 An egregiously bad movie

As a computer science student, I went to see The Internship excited to watch a movie about an internship at Google. And it's a comedy too, I thought. Great!

Well, once the movie truly begins (after rushing through introductions for a few characters that are discarded for the rest of the movie), we are met with the Googleplex, Google's office. Google's driver-less car along with the Space Ship One at the entrance makes the movie look more like an ad for Google (the rest of the movie makes you feel that this is not necessarily a bad thing).

But, filled with poor writing it quickly degrades in quality with some very poor characters taking up most of the screen-time. The characters are so gimmicky and caricatured that the movie loses any sense of realism it held. While Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson try hard, there really is not much in the way of funny dialogue or a plot for them to work with. None of the characters have any depth, and the script is pretty shoddy. I would give this a miss.

This is 40

I'm only linking to IMDb to make other people aware of this "film" and to avoid at all costs.

It's 134 minutes long. Let that sink in for a couple of minutes..... over 2 hours of absolutely no storyline following characters that have no likeable aspects to them!

This is a dreadful film - 1/10 and that one is solely for Megan Fox's outfits!

I second this completely. Took me by surprise how good it was and for me, film of the year so far.

A Million Ways To Die In The West.

If you're a fan of Seth Macfarlane then you're going to enjoy this. It's not going to win any Oscars but it is well worth a watch.
