What film did you watch last night?

The Prestige 9.5/10

My first viewing. It has to be up there with Shawshank, usual suspects, fight club for twists and guessing. The beauty of it is that it is all there.
Some dodgy English accents and a surprise David Bowie . Brilliant film. Whatever I watch next will disappoint.

Gone Girl - 6.5/10

Hmm, I thought it was a solid start to the film, but then when the 'twist' was revealed and it went into her side of things it just got sublimely ridiculous tbh, we were just laughing out loud for the last third of the film...and I don't think it was trying to be comedic :p

Also, the scenes between Rosamund Pike and Neil Patrick Harris (How I met your mother) were awful, his acting was terrible.

Fincher was on the Kermode/Mayo podcast the other week and did say that the back end of the film is intended to get a bit over the top and silly.

Non-Stop.

Not seen Tombstones yet but wasn't particularly offended by Non-Stop. I'm a Neeson fan and this pretty much delivered. Considering it was all set on a plane, the fights were good fun. Only thing it lacked was a proper gunfight but that's obviously understandable! It's not Taken though. Ending had terrible CGI too. Can't wait for Taken 3.

6/10

Lucy - 3/10 - good start, terrible ending, doesn't trump Limitless, so overall waste of time and money, so many big names, so little gain.

Big screen, surround sound and Gravity rocks. You can ignore most of the annoying aspects because it looks and sounds so good.

Not sure if I'd think too much of it if I watched it on anything less than 40" with at least hifi speakers.

Gravity is easily 9/10 but I do have two home cinemas :D
