What film did you watch last night?

Watched this last night too, one of the better horror / exorcism flix to come out recently. Not brilliant but definitely a good watch.

On a side note looking forward to The Babadook, apparently is a very good horror film and reviewed very well on rottentomatoes. Low budget aussie film, came out a few months ago but non of the big cinemas picked it up.

Babadook looks amazing, it's definitely a BluRay atch for me though as most of my friends/family are not horror fans at all as they get jumnpy too easily. They need to man up!

The posters for that described it as a cross between et and the goonies, which just made me want to go back and watch et...

I never saw ET on a remastered release, I wonder... :D

Egde of tomorrow, was expecting dire cruise rubbish, got a surprisingly decent groundhog day meets starship troopers sci-fi. 7/10

Saw three films over the weekend:

Gone Girl - 9.5/10 One of the best films I've seen for a while. So many interpretations I think I need to see it again.

Ted - 5/10 Nothing special tbh. I don't mind Seth MacFarlane but it was so very predictable and not exactly side splitting funny.

Frozen - 9/10 I actually really enjoyed this film, especially the ending. Considering I had to put up with the soundtrack in Thundy's car will Will Gill shotgun before I saw the film, I've now got it on my spotify playlist too now...

3 movies on Friday/Saturday Night for me

American Hustle - good, enjoyable, great performances from Bale and Adams - 7.5/10.

Starred Up - Superb, gripping, tense - loved it - Jack O'Connor was excellent and played a great role. Nice touching emotion bit at the end. - 9/10

22 Jump Street - basically the 1st movie hashed up again, but still very funny and enjoyable. Loved the silly fight/kiss/fight/kiss bit towards the end. Good fun - 7/10

Must have been the night for Deliver Us From Evil,I watched it too and thought it was pretty good.

Maze Runner

T'was ok, 6/10.

Didn't really know what the film was about, even at the end, then I realised it was part of a trilogy.

Even so, as a standalone film, it was a bit frustrating to not really reach a conclusion or have any answers at all.

The Maze Runner - 7/10

Wasn't sure what to make of it when i left the cinema.

Thought it would be more like The Hunger Games, with more time in the maze and more adventure, the movie just kicked in with them too established imho.

Alien

Only watched it to get in the mood for Alien Isolation that is coming today. I appreciate what it did for the genre, but meh, I just don't really enjoy it that much

6/10

Took the family to see What we did on our Holiday, starring David Tennant, Billy Connoly and a number of other well known British actors. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

9/10 for me.

Original screenplay, good performances, stunning scenery and very funny. We all need cheering up and this certainly helped. Kids are 7 and 11 but both enjoyed it despite it being a 12A.
