What film did you watch last night?

Perfume: The Story of a Murderer

7.5/10 - Some very odd scenes and quite a simplistic storyline, but absorbing nonetheless

Gone Girl.

Loved it, am going to go again tonight. 9/10

Like the hospital would send her home in a nurses uniform covered in the victims blood? :rolleyes:They would clean her and check for any injuries...she goes off to hide for a week and ends up watching the story of her disappearance on TV with some skank neighbour? I could go on but having sat there for 149 minutes I'm exhausted.

Pikes performance was good but that's were the positivity ends....

The more I think about this film the more I think it was just plain average and I am beginningg to wonder where all the high scores are coming from. I thought it was just OK and the twists werent really twists, more just continuations of a pretty two dimensional story.

Gone Girl - 8/10 for me.

First half I was spotting the coffee cups, but it picked up with the reveal and I'll never look at poor Barney in the same way again.

Dracula Untold. 4/10

Jesus what a stinker. Not one scene redeemed the film. Game of Lord of the hobbitmatrix300 with bats. The best part of the film is its run time at a merciful 92min
The Turkish Alpha Badie just look like a shaven Peter Dinklage on a sunbed.
Maybe the Game of Thrones generation will appreciate this trash. I would avoid it like the plague. Not worth your £$SEK

Prisoners 8.0/10

I have to agree with Rotten Tomatoes concencus:

Prisoners has an emotional complexity and a sense of dread that makes for absorbing (and disturbing) viewing.

I would have scored it higher had they got someone like Denzel Washington to play Franklin Birch, I didn't connect with Terrance Howard nor did I think he played his role well. Uncomfortable viewing yet gripping solid film though.

Lost in Translation. Brilliant. Romantic and existential.

I have seen this film more times in the past 10 years than any other movie.

I can't put my finger on it, the plot is weak, nothing much happens but the chemistry between them is just oh so amazing. The lights of Tokyo, the music soundtrack all blends in beautifully together.
