What film did you watch last night?

Just to be clear, we are talking about Cast Away and not Castaway, the difference between Tom Hanks talking to a volleyball and Amanda Donohoe running around in the buff is quite large but both are entertaining films, for different reasons!

Edge of Tomorrow, bog standard average acting Cruise Sci fi with a completely unbelievable size zero waife as the warrior female lead. Vaguely entertaining but pretty much the usual Cruise film, not great, not bad but ultimately a bit meh. 6/10

watched edge of tomorrow again (BR)

excellent film - good action, funny, handles time travel stuff pretty well (most time travel films get in a right mess!) effects are really good (lots of practical effects) the WW2 vibe actually fits really well and convincing acting from the two leads (especially bluntters who really nails it)

Went to see Annabelle with the missus. Waste of £21 as it was complete horse****. If this is what passes for 'horror' these days then the genre is absolutely dead. It's a poor insidious wannabe with a doll. Save your monies.

There was no reason for her to be any particular physique as she was killed right away then just changed things to alter the outcome

I loved Tangled too!

I bought the Frozen bluray yesterday and watched it with my wife. Cranked up the amp and just settled down to watch it. Some of the animation going on is mindblowing at times and the sound and visuals are spectacular. Loved the story, too.

Frozen and Tangled, I got bored with both. How to Train Your Dragon though was awesome. Less songs, more dragons ftw.

It was completely unbelievable a size zero waif would be some poster girl amazing warrior. :p

thats the whole point of the film

with the armoured exo suit and lots of practice in it she doesnt need to be strong

look at the rest of "J" squad - they are volunteers (at a point in a war which id imagine has already wiped out all the traditional warrior types) made up of a fatty, a short small woman, and a couple of skinny blokes

the reason Blunt is good in this film is that she sells the idea that she would have been just as instantly dead as TC is on his first go, and thanks to her near unlimited amount of training time has become a killing machine

she is a poster girl because a)she wiped out a ton of mimics at the Verdun battle and b) The Military used her as example to get more people to volunteer "look at how many enemy this untrainined size 0 waif can kill with our amazing exo suit things"

Frozen is one of those films that realy seems to split the sexes. My gf and daughter love it, me not so much.

How To Train Your Dragon is awesome though :D
