What film did you watch last night?

I thought id seen it all. Then i saw Kajaki. A quite extraordinary and visceral film. Its such a shame that such a shocking and astonishing film is subject to such a restricted and short release. Amazing.

Totally agree but your score is way off :p

Its a 4/10 at most...There are some visually stunning bits, saw it at IMAX yesterday, but the film is trying to be too clever for its own good.

Some parts are are just well silly and the exposition in some scenes is cringe worthy. I loved Inception and am a huge Nolan fan but Interstellar was flawed ,up your own backside drivel. Anne Hathaway was wrongly cast too, She was rubbish in it..I didn't for one minute buy her character one bit.

Caine didnt age in 27 years or what ever it was relatively speaking :D

Silver Linings Playbook - Cant help but feel the Oscar board were more impressed with Jennifers bouncing assets than her acting ability in this one! I think Bradley cooper actually put on a better performance.
Better than i expected mind!
 
I actually saw Interstellar a second time at the cinema, knew Dad really wanted to see it, so went with him.
Enjoyed it even more actually, and appreciated the score even more. Really nice soundtrack.
 
Nightcrawler - 8.5/10
Fantastic film. Gyllenhaal definitely deserves multiple awards nods for a superb performance. Brilliant.
 
I watched A Simple Life. It's a Chinese film about an old lady who's worked as a maid for generations of a family, and is working for the last guy who's left in the country, when she has a stroke and ends up in an old people's home and he ends up supporting her and taking care of her. Next to nothing happens, but it's quite sweet overall.

The wife went out to the cinema. She's just signed up for a cineworld year pass and she's much keener to go to the cinema while I'm happy enough to watch things on DVD. Someone's got to mind the kids anyway... She saw St. Vincent. She said it was good, quite touching without being saccharin. And hey, it's Bill Murray, so how bad could it be.
 
The Pyramid...horror movie from the guy who made Hills Have Eyes.

A few archaeologists find a super size pyramid in the middle of the desert, go in, things go wrong, something starts killing them. Pretty standard stuff but the creature design was superb.

Also stars Jay from Inbetweeners acting like a scared Jay from Inbetweeners.
 
Predestination. 9/10

Great movie, and will genuinely have you asking yourself at the end of it :

"What the hell did I just watch?"

Highly recommended.
 
The Poseidon Adventure (1972)

My missus hadn't seen it and watching any film that has a boat in it amuses me as she points out all the errors. She spotted everything IMDB found and more.
Some things happened in the film that involved shouting, screaming and saying the obvious.

Hunger Games Mocking Jay Part 1 5/10
Maybe slightly better than the last one, but the thing I couldn't put my finger on in the last one about why I didn't particularly enjoy it came to me watching this one. None of the characters are particularly likeable.
