What film did you watch last night?

The Maze Runner

Utter Dross

2/10

Ah good - not just me then :)

I've also recently seen
Fury - Great film, and pretty brutal in places - 9/10
Dying of the Light - I like Nicholas Cage, but this was a pretty formulaic spy/thriller film with no real surprises, and nothing that hasn't been done before in a dozen other similar films. 4/10

Turtles, lolworthy dialogue from the turtles, lolworthy dialogue from the "actors", lolworthy "plot", terrible acting(especially Miss Fox), poorly done action but brilliant CGI turtles.

At least my 7 year old son seemed to enjoy it.......

So just joined Netflix after Amazon announced they are cancelling my £2 a month disc rental and putting it up to £8.
Added loads to my watch list so some quick 'reviews' of what I have seen so far.

Halo: Forward Unto Dawn: Well, that's 1.5 hours of my life wasted. Started off ok (pretty much the intro to Halo 4) but rapidly desended into tedium and had me reaching for my tablet to browse the OCUK forums instead. 1/10

Europa Report: Wasn't sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. Rather enjoyed it. Some silly bits (travel all that way with just one drone "oops lost that, better head home then"), but kept me gripped all the way through. No need to reach for tablet here! 7/10

Odd Thomas: Was not really a fan of the books but loved the film. No hand holding introducing his 'powers", just straight in there. Enjoyed the raport between lead characters. Only used tablet to access IMDB to er... 'research' the leading lady. 9/10

I didn't think it was that bad myself. Saying that though, I had just watched Divergent before seeing this so my bar had been set very low
.

I totally agree. What the hell was it all about? And the scary thing is the ending left room for a possible sequel, god forbid.

Yeah I just didn't care about any of the characters ...the story was dull and they whole idea pants :p

You showed promise until you gave Fury 9/10:D

Not so brutal when Pitt is inside the tank and two grenades go off...and he fails to be blown up to smithereens....

The first half up to the tank battle was good than it just got silly.

Yeah, I did notice that when I watched it, but it was made up for by
The MG42 in the basement slicing off the American soldiers lower leg, and the other tank commander who had his upper body vaporised by a tank shell

There are still 3 more books in the series, so expect at least 3 more films, unless of course they don't make enough money to justify it.

My last film was The Book Thief, watched it on Sky Movies, not something I'd usually watch but was pleasantly surprised with the story, young girl who can't read is sent to live with a foster family during WWII Germany. Rated 9/10.

Maze Runner
6/10
Not bad. Not great.
Just an average film - the sort you'd happily watch if it was on the telly.

Into The Storm

First 75% of the movie - 3/10
Remaining part of the movie - 9/10
They really should've somehow extended the scene in the underground sewer.

It's a Wonderful Life - heard loads about it, never seen it. So watched it thanks to Etihad's Christmas selection of films. Was trying to hold it together towards the end!

Also tried watching Into The Storm - got about 10, maybe 15 mins in. Utter utter garbage. Not sure how it goes on but it was filmed Cloverfield style with the most annoying characters filming each other. Awful.

So started watching series 2 of Derek instead :)
