What film did you watch last night?

The Drop - 7/10

Quite a slow film but keeps you entertained, Tom Hardy did a good job.

Agreed, Hardy was excellent. It was a slow build, and I didn't really feel the payoff.

Maybe it was because I watched it over a couple of evenings. Not a great film, but certainly not bad either.

6/10

Dumb and Dumber To. 3/10.

Just plain bad. There was barely a laugh throughout the film in the cinema, apart from one crazy lady bursting out laughing at every sentence.
I knew it was never going to be good, but still... :(

Agreed I loved the first one, but this one was garbage.

This movie seems to get very polar reviews, I was fairly interested at the start of it but that interest tailed off towards the end. Would give it a 5/10 personally.

He's sober for a while... Cut him some slack... Attention on anything but the drink can cloud your judgement on movies :p

A whopping 95% on RT and 84% on metacritic is hardly polarised in terms of critical opinion, 5/10 would be a very unfair score imo.

Stop with the the self-hating easy, it ain't healthy. ;) :D

....

Seems more than fair for SnowyNonsense. Nothing was remotely believable and made no sense throughout. Essentially it was a linear run of the mill The Raid/Dredd type tower attack film but instead of going up they went sideways from one unbelievable scenario to another.

Its great for the odd pretentious wanna-be film critic who tries to read more into it than is actually there :D An audience score of 3.7/5 (rottentomatoes) is hardly suggestive of cinematic history.

It was okay and entertained for a few hours but I have not once felt like watching it again.

the girl with the dragon tattoo (original) and the sequels - first was good 8/10. The other two were pretty, maybe 5/10 each.

I thought they were fantastic and Naomi was superb!

Watched Filth!

Actually not that bad despite seeing mixed reviews!

Filth

"I know, I'll watch some other film that seemed to be about funny, crazy debauchery, like The Wolf of Wallstreet was."

WRONG!

This **** was intense, uncomfortable and harrowing, lol.

I haven't been as jarred by something since Requiem for a Dream.

Messed up story, well acted, but not something I'd ever want to watch again. I need to dose myself in about 2 hours of sit-coms now!

6.5/10

Don't ever read the books of Irvine Welsh then, FAR more distressing than the film interpretation of Filth!!

Skyfall - 7/10

I don't know what it was, but it wasn't a Bond film. Looked nice though.

Pacific Rim - 7/10

Utter nonsense, but cool robots were cool (and add at least 3 or 4 to the score).

Battleship - Unrateable

Words fail me.

Boyhood - 8/10
A great film-making achievement. Probably only Linklater could have made this work so well. A near three hour film without a clear plot other than "boy grows up." It was slow but so well-crafted and consistently engaging. Really enjoyed it.

This is the End - 5 or 6/10
Silly. It set out to be silly, and it hit the mark. Some fun moments and good dialogue, but not really up there with the best of this kind of slacker/stoner comedy.
