What film did you watch last night?

American Sniper 8.5/10

Great film. From some comments I thought it was going to be a bit 'USA USA' which I thought at the time was a bit odd coming from Clint, but I didn't find it like that at all.

Great performance from Bradley Cooper too.

Yeah they toned it down a bit from his self written book ( I suppose referring to dark skinned people as animals numerous times might have made him come across as a bit of a dick so they removed those parts)

Whiplash - pretty good 7/10, intense stuff

I'm actually surprised, I finally looked up Norton's IMDB

There was another movie in which I was very impressed with his acting skills.
It came on the telly.
About a young guy with dual personalities, who commits murder.
The question is, is he guilty or not?
It was pretty damn good and only a top class actor could make it believable.
Primal Fear.

This was his first (joint) leading role and I think it was on the strength of this he got the American History X, role, 2 years later.

Big Hero 6 - 8/10

Went in with not exactly high expectations but I really enjoyed it. Good storyline, great quality "adult" jokes as is the Disney norm and it looked amazing. All the scenery and animation was superb and highly detailed.

Birdman - 5/10

It took me three attempts to actually watch this because I got so bored within the first hour during the first two attempts. Didn't grasp me at all I'm afraid. I can see why people would like it, it's very "arty" and dramatically filmed, but didn't do it for me at all.

Horns, popped up on US netflix so gave it a whirl. - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1528071/

In the aftermath of his girlfriend's mysterious death, a young man awakens to find strange horns sprouting from his temples.

Surprisingly good stuff, first time i've liked Radcliffe in anything. Soundtrack as excellent, well told story, Juno Temple naked was just something else.

Went a bit OTT at the end but can live with it due to the whole premise of the story.

About 7/10

John Wick

Thoroughly enjoyed this film with lots of great cameos in it from John Luigezamo, Ian McShane, Willem Dafoe and a rather tidy looking Adrianne Palicki

Brutal in parts and some subtle humour in others. Keanu Reeves suited to the lead role quite well.

7.5/10

After the dark - Not really that brilliant, had potential, even with the somewhat avg rating on IMDB, but I felt a bit bored

5/10

Thought this was a bit of a bore fest to tbh :( The whole premise revolved on a very slim chance of meeting (Wick/Russian geezer) and everything snowballed from there.

There were a few good parts, but i was hoping for more: 5/10.

Watched a few movies recently:

Big Hero 6 - 7/10, kids loved it and the animation was very good (can definately see they did Frozen too).

Sin City 2 - 6/10, not a patch on the original. Josh Brolin was very good and Eva Green was stunning.

Drac Untold - 7/10, interesting take on the Vampire stories and some good effects.

Thanks, looks interesting, that tonight film sorted.

When I first saw a trailer for Kingsman I thought it was going to be some kid film, no idea why I thought that but I did, and now with everything said here I shall have to go and see it this week. Milton Keynes Cineworld has just opened something called a Superscreen™ so I shall have to go and see what that's like. They've also opened a 4DX screen but I'm not sure I fancy having smells, wind etc thrown at me whilst trying to watch a bloody film.

Sin City 2 - 6/10, not a patch on the original. Josh Brolin was very good and Eva Green's boobs.

Fixed that for you :D

Watched John Wick also but felt it really didn't bring anything new, it was reasonable for a brainless revenge story but I like a bit more from my films these days, everything was predictable no real twists. 6/10 from me.

Also that Church Scene in Kingsman, my god! :O
