What film did you watch last night?

Birdman - 8/10 - Not what I expected but it was till pretty awesome! I loved it, every minute of it and the only thing that bothers me is the ending.

Truly excellent film, the ending can be taken so many different ways. I can appreciate the artfulness of writing something that can be filmed and work in multiple ways but god damned it's frustrating to not just have an answer sometimes :p

Norton was better than I've seen him in a long long time. He's usually a great actor but takes so many duff roles, badly written or just poor films. Fight Club, American History X, can't think of much since those, he was excellent in these.

Keaton I always liked then he went for truly terrible roles for a long time, long long time, was just fantastic in this. Most of other roles in this were relatively small but no one wasn't good in it. Excellent cast, excellent script, great style of directing, great sound work(the noise/feel as they walked through these cramped corridors was fantastic). Jesus, they even had a brilliant drummer.

I'd say a 9/10 bordering on a 10/10....

Birdman was a great film. many little touches that fly under the radar which are very clever.

also like how the film was made great artistically .

mr keaton was perfect for the role.

Fury. Really enjoyed this. Great cast, pulls no punches and Pitts character is great. Half the time I'm rooting for him, the other half he's making me nervous and I am thinking what a **** he is. 8.5/10.

Couldn't decide between 8 and 9 :p

Kingsmen 9/10 - Fantastic film, loved that it brought back the ridiculous gadgets, evil master vilians bent on world domination with secret lairs and boiler suit henchmen!

Birdman 9/10 too. love the style of the filming. Great story that leaves you wondering about the ending for a few hours afterwards.

Before I saw American History X, I used to wonder why Norton is so highly regarded. Once I saw this (only 1-2 years ago), I realised what the fuss is about. As you said, he needs to choose his roles more carefully. This guy should be a mega star, in the same level as Di Caprio. Apparently Norton is a pain in the backside to work with, which puts directors off.

Saw Kingsman the other night. Loved it, thought Colin Firth was brilliant in the role of an old school "James Bond."

Film was very predictable, but enjoyable none the less. 8/10

For my money he made the best Hulk, just saying.

The raid 2

Watched the first raid and I enjoyed it, was expecting much of the same but after a while you can see the raid 2 has worked with a much bigger budget.

Absolutely awesome movie, best I've watched so far this year. One thing I will say is its very very gory in places:eek:

Fight scenes are epic!

9/10

If you like that try Kingsman easily best movie I watched thus year so far

Some might not know that this was a comic book movie

Best Hulk in a Hulk film, but Hulk in the Avengers is now way better.

I'm actually surprised, I finally looked up Norton's IMDB and, I don't think it's so much bad roles though there are some, it's more that he doesn't seem to have an awful lot of leading roles. I think that is why he isn't near the level of a Di Caprio, maybe doesn't carry that star power in his name.

Rounders/American History X/Fight Club all 98-99, he did a couple stupid films like Smoochy and the Stiller film which wasn't very funny for a comedy, and he did a bunch of De Niro style films, crime type things but he often wasn't the lead character and they were all a bit meh. Italian Job, Hulk, but it was only 7 years between Fight Club and The Illusionist.

He should get more bigger and better roles, phenomenal actor given the right role and should get more lead roles and movies built for him.

Equaliser - Liked it. Sometimes it's nice to see a film where the good guy does't get messed up (much). Bit silly in places but hey who cares. Don't think it's meant to be cognitively challenging.

Good Will Hunting - probably the 10th time I've seen it, and it won't be the last.

Rainman - same as above, except probably the 20th time.

American Sniper 8.5/10

Great film. From some comments I thought it was going to be a bit 'USA USA' which I thought at the time was a bit odd coming from Clint, but I didn't find it like that at all.

Great performance from Bradley Cooper too.

Just got back from watching:

Kingsman & Jupiter Ascending. Enjoyed both out the two I preferred the Kingsman, would recommend anyone to watch that.
