What film did you watch last night?

Earthquake (1974) - classic 70's California. Was on TV very late last night. Watch the blood scene at the very end of this clip :)

Before I saw American History X, I used to wonder why Norton is so highly regarded. Once I saw this (only 1-2 years ago), I realised what the fuss is about. As you said, he needs to choose his roles more carefully. This guy should be a mega star, in the same level as Di Caprio. Apparently Norton is a pain in the backside to work with, which puts directors off.

i think this was why he was chosen for the role. he does seem a bit stuck up . media you never know.

though, if you look at micheal keatons character they do the same to him with batman references. birdman is obviously batman.

there are many clever digs. almost feels a bit like a woody allen film.

Hercules 2014 (The one with the Rock in) - This was so bad it was good if you get my meaning. 6/10

The Legend of Hercules 2014 (The one without the rock in it) - This was even worse and again it was so bad I actually enjoyed it somewhat! 5.5/10

I must admit, I did have a couple of Jack Daniels in me when I watched these so I suggest if you are thinking of seeing them you do the same. :D

American Heist.

Mostly drama, the action happens mostly in the 2nd half. Fairly decent bank job movie. 6.5/10.

Interstellar

I usually "Like" Christopher Nolan films however the whole premise of this was lost on me.

The first 2 thirds of the film were building the story, the final third kind of threw that away and then threw in some far reaching concepts to turn everything on itself.

Some good performances (By the robots) and it obviously looks nice but I just don't like films where I need to look online to make sure I understood fully what was going on.

6.5/10

Fargo (1996)

Folksy is definitely the word for this film. I know it's famous / cultish, so was a little hyped by what this film is. I enjoyed it, just not sure about a few scene - e.g. when the chief goes to catch up with a buddy for dinner and the Chinese with the Sing-song accent, I mean, it was weird but where the heck did that stem from?! A little bemused by it.

Did I enjoy it?
Youbetcha!

Would I watch it again?
Ya!

Should I watch the TV series?
Most likely YA!

7.5/10

End of Watch 9/10
absolutely gripping from start to finish. Between this and Nightcrawler I'm starting to think that Jake Gylenhall is a very underrated actor.

"John Wick" 6/10. Keanu played the emotionally numb character rather well, good gun play and I liked the stuff with the hotel. Did not like the fact that he was useless without his gun, the car porn (bores me) and the new dog ending. When he's patching himself up I didn't notice whether he was at a vets or a dog pound. If the latter, he rescued a dog and they live happily ever after. If the former, the thieving git just stole someone's cherished family pet. :)

Oh, and Theon's a scumbag in any universe, apparently. :)

Yellow Submarine

Well that was trippy! Some funny puns to be honest, and I did sing along with a few of the songs.

6/10
