What film did you watch last night?

Fury

Poor...4/10 at best. One of the worst war movies I have ever seen...and I have probably seen most war movies made in the last 50 years. Struck me as a series of Call of Duty missions strung together. Last scene is just laughable.

Horns, popped up on US netflix so gave it a whirl. - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1528071/

Surprisingly good stuff, first time i've liked Radcliffe in anything. Soundtrack as excellent, well told story, Juno Temple naked was just something else.

Went a bit OTT at the end but can live with it due to the whole premise of the story.

About 7/10

I had mixed feelings about that film. It had some funny moments, but it didn't seem to know what kind of film it wanted to be. It kind of swung between comedy and horror and ended up (IMO) missing the mark on both of them.

I haven't seen any of the Harry Potter films, so the besides Horns, I've only seen him in The Woman in Black which I thought was a poor film and his acting was pretty ropey.

I'm likely to skip any future films that he's the star of.

Panic Room
7/10
Was alright, nothing amazing

I love Jodie Foster movies when she is playing the lead.
I gave this movie 9/10.

And I love conspiracy/alternative theory documentaries which get the mind thinking.

When you think that very few people in this country think that T.Blair is a war criminal (despite evidence to the contrary), it goes to show just what some people can get away with and not even stand trial. The masses are conditioned into thinking a certain way.

I've spoken to a few Americans online and they honestly believe, hand on heart, that people in the Middle East like the "peace" that USA dish out. They seem to ignore the fact that whichever country USA invades (in the name of peace and freedom), millions of civilians end up dead.

After seeing the thread about the minions movie, I decided it was time to watch despicable me for the first time. Good kids/ family film, not on the same level as some others like wallE etc, but still a fun film. Minions reminded me of the naughty gremlins in the gremlins films. 6.5/10

Sin City - To Kill a Dame

Wasn't sure at first, but ended up really enjoying it, especially the copious amounts of eye candy between the violence :D

8 / 10

Now watch the second, better story, more minions, utterly puerile, love it!

I personally didn't rate WALL-E. Not sure why, but it just didn't grab me. Despicable Me on the other hand I thought was pretty damn good and had me chuckling away :)

Jupiter ascending - I think I sort of get what they were going for but it didn't work, a few reasonable action scenes but the plot was too rushed and predictable - 4/10 with 3 of them being for Mila Kunis.

Big Hero 6 - better than I was expecting, though predictable if you've seen all the other John Lassiter films. Very colourful and great action scenes, good fun for the kids and not bad for adults too.

Sorry to be a pedant but Lasseter is only an exec producer on this and it's not from the actual Pixar team and it shows. Had Pixar themselves been directly involved, it could have been so much better.

Before anyone points it out, I know Pixar/Disney are now a single entity, i'm just saying this isn't a "pixar" movie. Same as Wreck It Ralph wasn't but commonly gets assumed it is.
